Trichosporon jiroveciiinfection of red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii)

Journal of Fish Diseases, 2018
AbstractOne hundred and twenty‐nine isolates ofTrichosporon jiroveciiwere isolated from the melanized exoskeleton as well as eyestalks, gills, muscle and haemolymph of red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) collected from the River Nile, during summer 2015. Isolates were similar morphologically, biochemically and genetically.

The underwater acoustic activities of the red swamp crayfish Procambarus clarkii

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012
This study describes the underwater acoustic behavior of the red swamp crayfish Procambarus clarkii. The study was conducted both in a tank and in the natural environment. The tank was equipped with video and acoustic recording systems. Observations were conducted to identify the underwater acoustic signals produced and their association with ...

Effects of acute low-temperature stress on respiratory metabolism, antioxidants, and metabolomics of red swamp crayfish, Procambarus clarkii.

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B Comparative Biochemistry
Crayfish (Procambarus clarkii) aquaculture is threatened by abrupt temperature decreases caused by climatic phenomena, such as cold waves and seasonal fluctuations.

Effects of glyphosate on neurotoxicity, oxidative stress and immune suppression in red swamp crayfish, Procambarus Clarkii.

Aquatic Toxicology
Glyphosate, a prevalent herbicide, has raised concerns due to its potential ecological impact, especially on aquatic ecosystems. While it is crucial for managing agricultural productivity, its inadvertent effects on non-target aquatic species like the ...

Still waters run deep: marbled crayfish dominates over red swamp crayfish in agonistic interactions

Aquatic Ecology, 2019
Intra- and interspecific interactions contribute to the successful establishment and consequent spreading of species in the environment, which became particularly apparent in the context of ongoing biological invasions. The parthenogenetic marbled crayfish, Procambarus virginalis, Lyko 2017 is recently recognized as an emerging invader due to its high ...

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances in Chinese commercially available red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii): Implications for human exposure and health risk assessment.

Environmental Pollution
The extensive utilization of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) has led to their pervasive presence in the environment, resulting in contamination of aquatic products.

Hormones in the red swamp crayfish

1996
Publisher Summary This chapter reviews the unique hormone structures in the red swamp crayfish. Several aspects of molting hormones and the possible biosynthetic significance involved in the molting process are described in the chapter. The chemical and molecular information for crustacean endocrinology is presented and the role of ecdysteroids as ...

Bioaccumulation of lead nitrate in red swamp crayfish (Procambarus clarkii)

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 1997
Abstract Crayfish were exposed to intermediate concentrations of lead nitrate (150 μgl−1 and 1100 μgl−1) for periods up to 7 weeks. Lead clearance was monitored at 3 weeks following the 7 week exposure to the lower concentration. Lead bioaccumulation was demonstrated to be a time- and dose-dependent phenomenon in gills, hepatopancreas and abdominal ...

Transcriptomics, metabolomics and proteomics analyses reveal glyphosate tolerance mechanism in red swamp crayfish Procambarus clarkii.

Science of the Total Environment
Glyphosate (Gly), the world's most widely used herbicide in agriculture, can poison the red swamp crayfish, Procambarus clarkii, via spray drift and surface runoff into surface waters. However, there is a paucity of research on the mechanisms that affect
