Two Populations of Young Massive Star Clusters in Arp 220 [PDF]
We present new optical observations of young massive star clusters in Arp 220, the nearest ultraluminous infrared galaxy, taken in UBVI with the Hubble Space Telescope ACS/HRC camera. We find a total of 206 probable clusters whose spatial distribution is

ABSTRACT Isochrones, equal‐age curves, are widely used in astrophysics to estimate stellar ages. Classical stellar parameters are, however, very limited in their usability for main sequence stars because of their weak age‐dependence. Here, rotation period measurements provide complementary information.

Formation Process of the Young Stellar Population in Messier 16 from a Kinematic Perspective
We present a kinematic study of young stars in Messier 16 (M16) using the Gaia Data Release 3 and high-resolution spectra. A total of 345 stars are selected as genuine members using the published lists of X-ray sources, infrared sources, and early-type ...

Heavy Metal Contamination in Chocolates and Candies: Sources, Health Risks, and Analytical Insights
The presence of heavy metals in chocolates and candies poses growing public health concerns, particularly for children who are frequent consumers. This review consolidates evidence on the occurrence, sources, toxicological impacts, and analytical monitoring of metals, including Pb, Cd, Hg, As, Cr, Ni, and Al, in confectionery products.

The extinction law from ultraviolet (UV) to infrared (IR; 0.2–24 μ m) is determined by relying on the blue-edge method and color-excess ratios for some nearby molecular clouds, from the low-mass star-forming region to the massive star-forming region. The

We present a uniform forward-modeling analysis of 90 late-M and L dwarfs in nearby young (∼10–200 Myr) moving groups, the Pleiades, and the Hyades using low-resolution ( R ≈ 150) near-infrared (0.9–2.4 μ m) spectra and the BT-Settl model atmospheres.

The Reddest DR3 SDSS/XMM Quasars
We have cross-correlated the SDSS DR3 Schneider et al. (2005) quasar catalog with the XMM-Newton archive. Color and redshift selections (g - r > 0.5 and 0.9 z < 2.1) result in a sample of 17 red, moderate redshift quasars.

Rebalancing open‐ness – an ethical analysis of publishing coroners’ reports online in Aotearoa
ABSTRACT In line with the move towards increasing data openness in Aotearoa, the Coronial Services of New Zealand have published 20 complete coroners’ reports online, containing sensitive and identifying information. This paper considers the ethical issues that online publication of coroners’ reports raises.

PhotoD with LSST: Stellar Photometric Distances Out to the Edge of the Galaxy
As demonstrated with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), Pan-STARRS, and most recently with Gaia data, broadband near-UV to near-IR stellar photometry can be used to estimate distance, metallicity, and interstellar dust extinction along the line of ...
