Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

The f‐p‐d (Eu─O─Fe) gradient orbital coupling induces electron delocalization and the introduced f‐band of Eu shifts the spin state of the Fe center in FePc from low‐spin to intermediate‐spin. This strategy simultaneously enhances oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity, reaction kinetics, and stability, resulting in superior ORR performance and ...

Intervalence (Charge-Resonance) Transitions in Organic Mixed-Valence Systems. Through-Space versus Through-Bond Electron Transfer between Bridged Aromatic (Redox) Centers [PDF]
Intervalence absorption bands appearing in the diagnostic near-IR region are consistently observed in the electronic spectra of mixed-valence systems containing a pair of aromatic redox centers (Ar•+/Ar) that are connected by two basically different ...

Ru‐substituted hexagonal perovskite SrMnO3, featuring face‐shared oxygen species, is designed as an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the aerobic oxidation of sulfides. The catalyst demonstrates high selectivity to sulfones (>99%) under mild reaction conditions (≥30 °C). Ru substitution promotes oxygen vacancy formation of face‐shared oxygen species

Redox chemistry meets semiconductor defect physics [PDF]
Understanding how the electronic structure of electrodes influences electrocatalytic reactions has been a longstanding topic in the electrochemistry community, with predominant attention paid to metallic electrodes. In this work, we present a defect physics perspective on the effect of semiconductor band structure on electrochemical redox reactions ...

Sono‐Piezo‐Photosynthesis of Ethylene and Acetylene from Bioethanol under Ambient Conditions
A novel sono‐piezo‐photocatalytic strategy enables the conversion of bioethanol to ethylene (C2H4) and acetylene (C2H2) under ambient conditions, addressing the limitations of conventional methods that are high‐temperature and energy‐intensive. By using an advanced graphene oxide/sodium bismuth titanate heterostructure catalyst, this work achieved ...

H2O2‐Generating Advanced Nanomaterials for Cancer Treatment
H2O2‐generating nanoplatforms can exploit tumor redox imbalance for O2 and toxic reactive oxygen species generation, leading to hypoxia reversal, and apoptosis of cancer cells, respectively. This review highlights the mechanisms of these nanoplatforms, including exogenous H₂O₂ delivery, endogenous amplification, and metal peroxides, which leads to ...
