Origin of reversible oxygen redox reactions in high energy density layered oxides
Summary: Oxygen redox reactions (ORRs) are considered a new strategy in reaching a high-energy density for rechargeable batteries. Here, we propose the concept “band coherency” for identifying the origin of reversible ORRs in alkali-excess compounds, i.e.

New function of aldoxime dehydratase: Redox catalysis and the formation of an unexpected product. [PDF]
In general, hemoproteins are capable of catalyzing redox reactions. Aldoxime dehydratase (OxdA), which is a unique heme-containing enzyme, catalyzes the dehydration of aldoximes to the corresponding nitriles.

The Effects of Iron on In Silico Simulated Abiotic Reaction Networks
Iron is one of the most abundant elements in the Universe and Earth’s surfaces, and undergoes a redox change of approximately 0.77 mV in changing between its +2 and +3 states.

Redox-mediated reactions of vinylferrocene: toward redox auxiliaries [PDF]
Redox reactions have been used to transform unreactive vinylferrocene into a powerful dienophile and reactive substrate for thiol addition reactions upon conversion to its ferrocenium state.

Kinetic Control on the Depth Distribution of Superdeep Diamonds
Superdeep diamonds contain unique information from the sublithospheric regions of Earth's interior. Recent studies suggest that reaction between subducted carbonate and iron metal in the mantle plays an important role in the production of superdeep ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
