Plasmonic and Photonic Modes in Colloidal CuS Nanocrystals
Copper sulfide in the covellite phase (CuS) can exhibit exceptional optoelectronic properties with plasmonic and photonic absorption in its monolithic nanomaterial form. In this work, the phenomenon of near‐infrared (NIR) to visible electromagnetic field localization in ultrathin crystalline quasi‐2D CuS nanocrystals is demonstrated by mapping ...

This work demonstrates that wavelength selective reflection of circularly polarized light (CPL) of both handedness (right‐R or left‐L) can be achieved from self‐assembled cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), breaking the inherent limitation of obtaining only L‐CPL reflection.

New photosensitizers for light‐induced antimicrobial therapy are successfully synthesized and characterized. When dissolved in water, all compounds self‐assemble forming spherical aggregates with <100 nm dimensions. The nanoparticles show high photothermal conversion efficiency and demonstrate antimicrobial activity toward both Gram‐negative and Gram ...

In chiral and polar metal‐halide single crystals or thin films, the orientation of the main optical axis normal to incident light allows an easy characterization of the chiroptical properties (circular dichroism and circularly polarized luminescence) without artifacts or macroscopic interferences, despite the highly anisotropic nature in this family of

Light impinging from the left on a metasurface composed by active material. The metasurface shows asymmetric configuration through the non‐uniform presence of holes. The forming quasi‐BICs modes are exploited for lasing purposes. Abstract It is proposed and numerically demonstrated a novel strategy to achieve lasing generation from a dual‐band symmetry‐

High Fidelity Waveguides Through Vitreous Media Recomposition for Next Generation Photonic Devices
A newly designed aluminosilicate glass enables the fabrication of femtosecond laser‐written optical waveguides with ultra‐low propagation losses of −0.020 dB cm−1 at 1310 nm and −0.037 dB cm−1 at 1550 nm. Raman, Brillouin, and electron microscopy analyses reveal the mechanisms behind refractive index modifications, highlighting the role of glass ...

Few Photons Probe Third‐Order Nonlinear Properties of Nanomaterials in a Plasmonic Nanocavity
It is demonstrated that a few photons probe the nonlinear optical properties of different nanomaterials inside a plasmonic nanocavity. A simple analytical model fits the experimental result, which shows a strong dependence on the nanocavity resonance.

Ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy reveals that α‐In2Se3, a non‐toxic and air‐stable 2D material, demonstrates slow hot carrier (HC) cooling (≈35 ps), comparable to perovskites. This prolonged cooling can enable efficient energy extraction. Comprehensive analysis captures key HC dynamics, such as quasi‐Fermi shifts, many‐body interactions, and
