Quasars could serve as standard candles if the relation between their ultraviolet (UV) and X-ray luminosities can be accurately calibrated. Previously, we developed a model-independent method to calibrate quasar standard candles using the distance ...

Non-Doppler Redshift and Redshifts of QSOs
Quasars have reigned as the most luminous and distant objects in the Universe. These concepts were based on the hypothesis that the redshifts of quasars are obeying the Hubble low. This hypothesis has little serious competition today, but has met some difficulties when using it to determine the distances of quasars.

Azaporphyrinoid‐Based Photo‐ and Electroactive Architectures for Advanced Functional Materials
A long‐standing collaboration between the Torres and Guldi groups has yielded diverse azaporphyrinoid‐based donor‐acceptor nanohybrids with promising applications in solar energy conversion. This conspectus highlights key molecular platforms and structure‐function relationships that govern light and charge management, supporting the rational design of ...

Probabilistic Forward Modeling of Galaxy Catalogs with Normalizing Flows
Evaluating the accuracy and calibration of the redshift posteriors produced by photometric redshift (photo- z ) estimators is vital for enabling precision cosmology and extragalactic astrophysics with modern wide-field photometric surveys.

Spectral Tuning of Hyperbolic Shear Polaritons in Monoclinic Gallium Oxide via Isotopic Substitution
Spectral tuning of highly directional hyperbolic shear polaritons is realized via isotopic substitution of 16O to 18O in monoclinic β$\beta$‐phase gallium oxide. A red‐shift of almost 40 cm−1 is experimentally demonstrated with near‐field imaging, corroborated by the permittivity change extracted from far‐field experiments and density functional theory.

It is demonstrated that the electrochemical, interfacial, and humidity stability of halide‐doped sulfide electrolytes (LPSClBr) is significantly enhanced by an organic surface coating using octadecyl phosphonic acid (OPA) and its lithiated form (Li‐OPA). This single‐step strategy enables robust interfacial protection, supports lithium metal anodes, and

Heptazine‐assisted MR‐TADF emitters enable narrowband yellow emission with high efficiency at high luminance in solution‐processed OLEDs. In doped films, HAP‐3CzBN achieves a record‐fast kRISC of 1.19 × 106 s−1. The optimized HAP‐3CzBN devices deliver 15.5% EQEmax with negligible roll‐off at 1000 cd m−2, 11.2% at 10,000 cd m−2, and a benchmark 20.3 ...
