Managing prototype reduction with mathematical programming
Innovation in Technology Management. The Key to Global Leadership. PICMET '97, 2002Summary form only given as follows. This paper describes a math programming model used to construct a minimal shared prototype fleet that meets all testing needs. The model is run iteratively to guide a test plan development process that involves ongoing dialogue between test requesters and fleet planners.

A Mathematical Model for the Reduction of Neck Tension
Proceedings of the Human Factors Society Annual Meeting, 1986Tension in the muscles of the neck has been found to be a major contributing factor to pain and discomfort among office workers. It was the purpose of this study to produce a mathematical model for the prediction of neck muscle tension based on source document placement at a word processing workstation.

Mathematical Modelling of Toxicity Associated with Intracellular Chromium Reduction
Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, 2013Chromium is a known allergen and carcinogen, but the mechanisms by which damage is caused are not clearly understood. Based on experimental literature, we devise a conceptual model examining the intracellular reduction of chromium through reductants such as glutathione and ascorbic acid.

A mathematical reusability model for quantifying the reduction in development effort
ACM SIGSOFT Software Engineering Notes, 2010Software Effort and Cost Estimation is a very important activity that includes very uncertain elements. In the context of object-oriented software, traditional methods and metrics were extended to help managing this activity. Use Case Points (UCP) is a very well known metrics used for estimation of object-oriented systems.

Over-Tenured Universities: The Mathematics of Reduction
Management Science, 1981Most universities anticipate an era of retrenchment over the next decade or two. The heady period of expansion fueled by the baby boom and by the jump in the percentage of high school graduates enrolling in college is now yielding to the lean years of the baby bust.

Mathematical Model of Iron Reduction with Aluminothermic Method
Advanced Materials Research, 2014Utilization of industrial waste in foundry engineering is one of approaches for decrease of production cost price. This technological process may be based on exothermic oxidation-reduction reaction with the resulting formation of iron from dross. Initial charge mixture consists of dispersed aluminum, iron dross and admixtures.

The mathematical modeling of aluminum reduction cells
JOM, 2006In order to expand its primary aluminum capacity, Rusal has focused on improving its technological base. Toward that end, the company created the Engineering and Technological Center (ETC). Within the ETC the Division of Mathematical Modeling was established to enable technical decisions to be made based not only on engineering intuition and practical ...
