SILVER-CATALYZED REDUCTIVE DEHALOGENATION OF 1,1-DIBROMOCYCLOPROPANES

Chemistry Letters, 1983
Abstract 1,1-Dibromocyclopropanes underwent rapid reduction to the corresponding monobromides in high yields on treating with LiAlH4-1 mol% silver perchlorate in THF, presumably via a silver-catalyzed radical chain mechanism.

Stereochemistry of reductive dehalogenation with deuterium gas

Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals, 1986
AbstractThe stereochemistry of reductive debromination and deiodination of 4‐haloprolines and 2‐ or 7‐bromo‐cholesterols with 2H2 catalyzed by Pd was investigated using 2H NMR. The reactions are stereoselective but not stereospecific.

Reductive dehalogenation of polyhalofluorocarbons with tributyltin hydride

Journal of Fluorine Chemistry, 1995
Abstract The reduction of polyhalofluorocarbons, including ClCF2CFClCF2Cl, (ClCF2CFCl)2, ICH2(CF2)3CH2I and vicinal dichloro-perfluorocycloalkanes, with tributyltin hydride gave the corresponding hydrofluorocarbons in good to excellent yield. The results are compared with similar reductions with other reducing agents, and to tin hydride reductions of

Humin as an Electron Mediator for Microbial Reductive Dehalogenation

Environmental Science & Technology, 2012
We report that humins extracted as the solid fractions from paddy soils or sediment are involved in extracellular electron transfer, coupled with microbial reductive dehalogenation of pentachlorophenol (PCP), by serving as both electron acceptor and electron donor.

Inhibitory Effects of Corticoids on Reductive Halothane Dehalogenation

Drug Metabolism and Drug Interactions, 1995
The effects of corticoids, hydrocortisone, methylprednisolone, betamethasone and dexamethasone, on the reductive metabolism of halothane to produce chloro-difluoroethylene (CDE) and chlorotrifluoroethane (CTE) in the liver microsomes of guinea-pig were examined.
