Design and Kinematic Control of the Cable-Driven Hyper-Redundant Manipulator for Potential Underwater Applications

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Underwater manipulators are important robotic tools in the exploration of the ocean environment. Up to now, most existing underwater manipulators are rigid and with fixed 5 or 7 degrees of freedom (DOF), which may not be very suitable for some ...

Model-Predictive-Control-Based Time-Optimal Trajectory Planning of the Distributed Actuation Mechanism Augmented by the Maximum Performance Evaluation

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Trajectory planning for a redundant manipulator is a classic problem. However, because it is difficult to precisely evaluate its maximum performance, an optimization method has been typically used.

Redundant manipulators kinematics inversion

open access: yesScientific Research and Essays, 2011
A robotic system is kinematically redundant when it possesses more degrees of freedom than those required to execute a given task. This paper reviews the well-known methods used to find the inverse kinematics of redundant manipulators. Because redundant manipulators have infinite solutions for their inverse kinematics, therefore the conventional method

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Inverse Kinematics Solution of Redundant Manipulator based on Improved Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2021
Taking the minimizing pose error of the end-effector as the objective function, the inverse kinematics problem of redundant manipulator is transformed into an equivalent optimization problem.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

An On-Line Path Planner for Industrial Manipulators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2013
In this paper, an on-line path planner for an industrial manipulator is presented. The proposed control architecture is capable of driving the manipulator in its environment while avoiding collisions.
