The psychosocial toll of Dublin III on asylum seekers in the Netherlands

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract The Dublin III Regulation determines which EU Member State is responsible for examining asylum claims, but its implementation carries significant consequences for those subjected to it. This study examines how Dublin III, as implemented in the Netherlands, affects asylum seekers' psychosocial wellbeing using Silove′s Adaptation and Development

Another new approach to the small Ree groups [PDF]

open access: yesArchiv der Mathematik, 2010
The Ree groups \(^2G_2(3^{2n+1})\) and \(^2F_4(2^{2n+1})\) were originally discovered by \textit{R. Ree} [in Am J. Math. 83, 432-462 (1961; Zbl 0104.24705) and Bull. Am. Math. Soc. 67, 115-116 (1961; Zbl 0104.24703), respectively]. They were constructed as the fixed points of certain automorphisms of order 2 of Chevalley groups \(G_2(3^{2n+1})\) and ...

National Disability Insurance Scheme and Quality of Life Among Carers of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder in Australia: A Thematic Analysis

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diagnoses of autism spectrum disorder in Australia have increased considerably in recent years. The current study investigated how the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) impacts quality of life (QoL) among carers of children with autism spectrum disorder.

Validating an energy expenditure prediction equation in overweight and obese Mexican patients

open access: yesNutrición Hospitalaria
Background: The prevalence of overweight and obesity in Mexico is approximately 70%; thus, obtaining a reliable measurement of the resting energy expenditure (REE) in these patients is of extreme importance.

Additivity and non-additivity of multipartite entanglement measures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We study the additivity property of three multipartite entanglement measures, i.e. the geometric measure of entanglement (GM), the relative entropy of entanglement and the logarithmic global robustness. First, we show the additivity of GM of multipartite

Suzuki–Ree groups and Tits mixed groups over rings [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Algebra, 2019
It is shown that Suzuki-Ree groups can be easily defined by means of comparing two fundamental representations of the ambient Chevalley group in characteristic 2 or 3. This eliminates the distinction between the Suzuki-Ree groups over perfect and imperfect fields and gives a natural definition for the analogues of such groups over commutative rings. As

The Cost of the National Disability Insurance Scheme: Australia's Print‐Media Discourse

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper examines the way that Australian newspapers have framed the cost of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Introduced in 2013, the NDIS represented a major change in Australia's disability support policy, moving for the first time to a nationwide universal insurance model.

Effect of constitution on mass of individual organs and their association with metabolic rate in humans--a detailed view on allometric scaling. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Resting energy expenditure (REE)-power relationships result from multiple underlying factors including weight and height. In addition, detailed body composition, including fat free mass (FFM) and its components, skeletal muscle mass and internal organs ...

High resting energy expenditure, less fat-free mass, and less muscle strength in HIV-infected children: a matched, cross-sectional study

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition, 2023
Background and aimsMany improvements have been made in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in pediatric patients; however, challenges remain in terms of achieving normal growth, body composition, and metabolism during treatment, etc ...
