Trends in reference crop evapotranspiration over Iran
Journal of Hydrology, 2011Summary This study examined the trends in reference crop evapotranspiration (ET0) on monthly and annual time scales in Iran. ET0 was estimated using the globally accepted Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Penman Monteith method (FAO-56 PM) over the 16 weather stations located in the different regions of Iran.

Predicting reference evapotranspiration for screenhouse-grown crops
Agricultural Water Management, 2014Abstract The purpose of the study is to estimate the reference evapotranspiration of screenhouse-grown crops (ET o,in ) from routine outside weather data and main screenhouse characteristics. To this aim, all the microclimatic variables required to calculate ET o,in by means of the standard FAO-56 Penman–Monteith formula were measured under three ...

Accuracy of Estimated Reference Crop Evapotranspiration
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 1989Evapotranspiration from cool‐season grasses is used as the reference for ET0. The requirements for local calibration for three equations for ET0 recommended by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) are shown for different climatic regions of California.

Sensitivity of Reference Crop Evapotranspiration in Shaanxi Province
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Reference crop evapotranspiration (ET0) is a key to estimate crop water requirements, and also an important component of irrigation schedule and water resources planning, sensitivity analysis are crucial in assessing the impact of climate changes inET0estimations.

Forecasting weekly reference crop evapotranspiration series
Hydrological Sciences Journal, 1995Abstract Evapotranspiration (ET) is an important process in the hydrological cycle and needs to be accurately quantified for proper irrigation scheduling and optimal water resources systems operation. The time variant characteristics of ET necessitate the need for forecasting ET. In this paper, two techniques, namely a seasonal ARIMA model and Winter's

The study at first recalls the concept of "potential evapotranspiration" (PET), originally considered equal to the evaporation climatic demand; then, it reminds the steps of its progressive evolution toward the concept of "reference crop evapotranspiration" (ET0) determined on irrigated grass. A physical analysis conducted on the evaporation process is

EFFECT OF PAN DIAMETER ON EVAPORATION AND REFERENCE CROP EVAPOTRANSPIRATION
Transactions of the ASAE, 2004The effect of pan size on evaporation rates, pan coefficient, and reference crop evapotranspiration is not clearly understood. Evaporation rates (mm/day) were therefore measured using the standard class A pan, a half-standard pan (half the diameter of the class A pan), and quarter-standard pan between February 1 and April 30, 2000, at St.
