Reference evapotranspiration estimated from air temperature using the MARS regression technique

open access: yesBioscience Journal, 2018
The reference evapotranspiration (ETo) is an important component for determining the water requirements of the crops. In order to estimate this variable accurately, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) proposed the Penman-Monteith equation ...

Predictive models for reference evapotranspiration in Gaoyou irrigation district

open access: yesGuan'gai paishui xuebao
【Objective】 Gaoyou irrigation district is located at the low reaches of the Yangtze River in northern Jiangsu province, China. To improve its irrigation management, we compared four models for predicting the reference evapotranspiration (ET0) in the ...

New temperature reference cells for calibrating CSPRTs under adiabatic conditions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Metrology and Quality Engineering, 2014
Two new miniature metallic sealed-cells containing the triple point of water, WTP (273.16 K) and the triple point of mercury, HgTP (234.3156 K) have been constructed for the realization of the International Temperature Scale of 1990 ...

An improved method for piecewise linear compensation in gap reference source

open access: yesDianzi Jishu Yingyong, 2019
In order to reduce the temperature coefficient of band-gap reference source and improve the flexibility of temperature compensation,an improved piecewise linear compensation method was designed.

Identification of a Shiga toxin A‐derived peptide internalized into Gb3 receptor‐bearing cells via interaction with the Shiga toxin B subunit

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The process of internalization of the Shiga toxin A subunit via formation of a complex with the Shiga toxin B subunit, which specifically binds to the Gb3 receptor. The peptide is designed to act as a carrier of drugs into cancer cells. Here, we explored the potential of peptides derived from the catalytic A subunit of Shiga toxin (STxA) to be drug ...

Modelling of natural convection flows with large temperature differences : a benchmark problem for low Mach number solvers. Part 1, Reference solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
There are very few reference solutions in the literature on non-Boussinesq natural convection flows. We propose here a test case problem which extends the well-known De Vahl Davis differentially heated square cavity problem to the case of large ...

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

Thermoelectric properties of currently available Au/Pt thermocouples related to the valid reference function

open access: yesInternational Journal of Metrology and Quality Engineering, 2015
Au/Pt thermocouples are considered to be an alternative to High Temperature Standard Platinum Resistance Thermometers (HTSPRTs) for realizing temperatures according to the International Temperature Scale of 1990 (ITS-90) in the ...

An epithelial GPR35 isoform supports tumor‐associated transcriptional and metabolic phenotypes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
GPR35 generates two functionally distinct isoforms with previously unresolved roles. GPR35‐short mediates immune‐cell chemotaxis, while GPR35‐long is enriched in colorectal cancer epithelium, where it supports increased metabolism, proliferation, and tumor‐associated transcriptional programs.

Peripheral lysosomes recruit PLEKHG3 to focal adhesions and restrain protrusion dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proximity‐dependent labeling at the LAMTOR complex revealed the Rho GEF PLEKHG3 as a lysosome‐proximal protein directing the study toward the influence of lysosome positioning on actin dynamics and cell motility. We show that PLEKHG3 colocalizes with lysosomes at focal adhesion sites and observe that forced peripheral dispersion of lysosomes hinders ...
