Some results on thermal stress of layered plates and shells by using Unified Formulation [PDF]
This work presents some results on two-dimensional modelling of thermal stress problems in multilayered structures. The governing equations are written by referring to the Unified Formulation (UF) introduced by the first author.

Transient Response Investigation of Cross-Ply Plates Using Refined Theory
Response of cross-ply plates subjected to transient load is obtained using five variables refined plate theory, and four variables plate theory. Equations of motion are derived through the principleof virtual work.

Buckling Response of Functionally Graded Porous Plates Due to a Quasi-3D Refined Theory
A quasi-3D refined theory is used to investigate the buckling response of functionally graded (FG) porous plates. The present theory takes into consideration the effect of thickness stretching. Three models of FG porous plates are presented: an isotropic

Two-Scalar Turbulent Rayleigh-Benard Convection: Numerical Simulations and Unifying Theory [PDF]
We conduct direct numerical simulations for turbulent Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard (RB) convection, driven simultaneously by two scalar components (say, temperature and salt concentration) with different molecular diffusivities, and measure the respective fluxes ...

A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates [PDF]
A new sinusoidal shear deformation theory is developed for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded plates. The theory accounts for sinusoidal distribution of transverse shear stress, and satisfies the free transverse shear stress ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
