Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Transarterial Chemoembolization (TACE) may aggravate liver fibrosis. In this study, a novel oral targeting nanoemulsion is fabricated to enhance the therapeutic effect of antifibrotic drug‐pirfenidone (PFD) on fibrosis after TACE. Studies have shown that PFD nanoemulsion can enhance the oral liver targeting effect of PFD, and effectively improve the ...

Grover's disease: dermoscopy, reflectance confocal microscopy, and histopathological correlation
Grover’s disease is a benign condition of unknown origin characterized clinically by an erythematous papulovesicular eruption and histopathologically by intraepidermal clefting and four different patterns of acantholysis: Darier-like, pemphigus-like ...

Full-wave simulations of tomographic optical imaging inside scattering media [PDF]
Label-free tomographic optical imaging inside scattering media is important for medical diagnosis, biological science, colloidal physics, and device inspection. An outstanding challenge is that the ground-truth structure is often unknown, so one cannot rigorously assess and compare different imaging schemes. Here we demonstrate full-wave simulations of

Laser scanning reflection-matrix microscopy for label-free in vivo imaging of a mouse brain through an intact skull [PDF]
We present a laser scanning reflection-matrix microscopy combining the scanning of laser focus and the wide-field mapping of the electric field of the backscattered waves for eliminating higher-order aberrations even in the presence of strong multiple light scattering noise.

Glioblastoma multiforme is the most devastating and incurable brain tumor. To better study this disease, a 3D model is developed using a hyaluronic acid‐based hydrogel combined with a multicellular approach. This model recapitulates in vivo brain stiffness, cell‐extracellular matrix and cell‐cell interactions and the tumor's hijacking function with the

Statistical modeling and classification of reflectance confocal microscopy images [PDF]
This paper deals with the characterization and classification of reflectance confocal microscopy images of human skin. The aim is to identify and characterize the lentigo, a phenomenon that originates at the dermo-epidermic junction of the skin. High resolution confocal images are acquired at different skin depths and are analyzed for each depth ...
