Reflectarrays: Potentials and Challenges
2007 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications, 2007The paper gives an overview of research activities on reflectarrays. It revisits the original concept of reflectarray and describes how its realization evolved over the last three decades. Fixed-beam and electronically steered varieties of this antenna are considered.

Frequency Tunable Graphene Metamaterial Reflectarray
Wireless Personal Communications, 2017In this paper, the radiation characteristics of frequency tunable graphene based metamaterial reflectarray have been investigated. The unit-cell consists of graphene two gaps split-ring-resonator (SRR) printed on a thick SiO2 substrate. The metamaterial parameters of the unit-cell have been calculated at different graphene chemical potentials and ...

Bandwidth study of microstrip reflectarray and a novel phased reflectarray concept
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 1995 Digest, 2002A microstrip reflectarray is a flat reflector antenna that can be conformally mounted onto its supporting structure without consuming a significant amount of real estate and without adding significant mass. The article concentrates on the bandwidth study of a form of reflectarray that uses identical patches with different-length transmission delay ...

Microstrip patches for a reflectarray
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 1999 Digest. Held in conjunction with: USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting (Cat. No.99CH37010), 2003Microstrip patch element geometry is indeed an important factor in the design of a microstrip reflectarray. In essence, each of these perfectly conductive elements creates a minuscule correction to the reflection phase of the scattered field so that a phase coherent main beam is constructed.

Editor's comments [reflectarray]
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, 2013The reflectarray is a familiar antenna structure. It often allows replacing a thick, expensive reflector with a thin, flat, relatively low-cost device. A phase-shifting surface is a structure that is analogous to a reflectarray but utilizing transmission, replacing a lens antenna with a thin, flat, low-cost multilayer printed structure.

Discussion of the leaky wave mechanism in Chap. 8 leads to a natural embracing of novel array antennas incorporating passive reflectarrays and Fabry-Perot resonator arrays—all of which have their origins in periodic surfaces and the emerging topics of frequency selective surfaces (FSS), partially reflective surfaces (PRS), high impedance surfaces (HIS)
