Intravitreal GD2‐Specific Chimeric Antigen Receptor T‐Cell Therapy for Refractory Retinoblastoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Effective treatments for advanced, treatment‐resistant retinoblastoma (RB) remain limited. GD2‐specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells show potent antitumor activity with minimal toxicity but have not previously been evaluated in RB.

Health‐Related Quality of Life and Symptom Severity Among Patients With PIK3CA‐Related Overgrowth Spectrum: A Mixed‐Methods Study to Understand Real‐World Experience With Alpelisib Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.

Reflective materials enhance "Fuji" apple color

open access: yesCalifornia Agriculture, 1996
Red color development is an important factor for consumer acceptance of California "Fuji" apples. Several attempts to improve red color development, including delaying harvest, have been unsuccessful in warm production areas.

Impact of Reflective Ground Film on Fruit Quality, Condition, and Post-Harvest of Sweet Cherry (Prunus avium L.) cv. Regina Cultivated Under Plastic Cover in Southern Chile

open access: yesAgronomy
Plastic covers protect fruits from cracking caused by pre-harvest rains in sweet cherry orchards; however, they can decrease the quality parameters of cherries, such as firmness, titratable acidity, color, and sugar content.

Consistent Foamed Asphalt Contents Needed for Cold In-Place Recycled Pavement Layers in Practice

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings, 2023
Cores were recovered from the right wheel path and between wheel paths at 8 locations US 34 in Mills and Wapello Counties. The cores were cut into discs to isolate the pavement layers and the discs were fabricated into semicircular bending test specimens.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
