Ocular Refractive Characteristics in Cerebral Palsy

Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1961
This study was undertaken because of the clinical impression that ocular refractive errors in cerebral palsied children were different from those of normal children and of children with neuromuscular handicaps other than cerebral palsy. A study of a limited number of patients warrants some preliminary observations.

Ocular anatomy and refraction

Documenta Ophthalmologica, 1983
An examination is made of possible relations between ocular morphology and refraction in man. Special attention is paid to astigmatism, prematurity, the eye at birth, and differences as between the eyes of men and women respectively. Some functional correlates are also pointed out.

Ocular Torticollis Caused by Refractive Error

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1982
• A patient with bilaterally dislocated lenses assumed a head tilt for optimum vision through spectacles prescribed for her myopia. Phakic and aphakic refractions could be obtained in either eye with changes in head position. A unilateral aphakic contact lens provided useful vision and corrected the head tilt.

Ocular refraction at low illuminations

Vision Research, 1966
Abstract A survey of literature concerned with ocular refraction at reduced illuminations reveals that most eyes become myopic with approaching darkness. The three causes of this myopia are considered and evidence for a night near response presented.

Effects of General Anesthesia on Ocular Refraction

Journal of Binocular Vision and Ocular Motility, 2022
General anesthesia alters the autonomic nervous system. This study aimed to investigate the effects of general anesthesia on objective ocular refraction.A total of 57 patients (112 eyes) under 15 years of age who underwent strabismus surgery under general anesthesia were included in this study.

Outline of Ocular Refraction.

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1938
This is an exceptionally interesting and valuable book, written by one who has evidently had considerable experience in all the practical details of prescribing glasses, from the initial refraction done in the office to the grinding of the lenses and the fitting of frames.

[Ocular refraction in Zaire].

Bulletin de la Societe belge d'ophtalmologie, 1997
to determine frequencies of refractive errors in Zairian blacks and to investigate the influence of race upon refraction.we examined the records of all patients seen at the department of Ophthalmology from 1963 to 1972. Refraction was measured by objective (skiascopy) or subjective methods.we found 4326 patients with ametropia, about 16% of the total ...

"CHANGES IN OCULAR REFRACTION"

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1933
To the Editor. — I observe that in Dr. Edward Jackson's paper on "Changes in Ocular Refraction," which appears in the last Bulletin of the American College of Surgeons , he does not mention my three papers on the rotation of the axis in astigmatism, though he refers quite fully to the subject. The first of my contributions was published in the British

Association Between Ocular Dominance and Refractive Asymmetry

Journal of Refractive Surgery, 2013
PURPOSE: To investigate the association between ocular dominance (sighting dominance) and refractive asymmetry in phakic patients. METHODS: This retrospective study included 3,012 patients with a mean age of 29.0 ± 5.3 years (range: 20 to 39 years).
