Cement-Free Refractory Concretes. Part 5. Cement-Free Refractory Concretes Based on Hydraulic Alumina Binders

Refractories and Industrial Ceramics, 2020
CFRC based on alumina hydraulic binders are similar with respect to hardening mechanism to low-cement refractory concretes (LCRC) and ultralow cement concretes (ULCRC). They are characterized by significant strengthening in the heat treatment temperature range 200 – 300°C and severe weakening in the range 600 – 1000°C.

Refractory Performance Study on Foamed Concrete and Concrete

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
Foam concrete is used in building energy saving and heat preservation project, and its refractory performance is very important to improve the fire resistance ability of the building. In this paper, fireproof property of the foamed concrete were studied. In the simulation fire conditions, compressive strength value of foamed concrete in different ...

Quartzite corundum refractory concretes

Refractories, 1983
A mullite-siliceous outgrowth producing excellent thermal-shock resistant properties in the material forms during service in concretes based on quartzite and corundum. Such concretes show no shrinkage during firing and can be recommended for use in the form of unfired articles prepared using a pressing method, and also in the form of blocks obtained by

Cement-Free Refractory Concretes. Part 4. Refractory Concretes based on Silica Sol Binders

Refractories and Industrial Ceramics, 2020
Compositions, technology features, and the main properties of cement-free refractory concretes (CFRC) based on a silica-sol binder are considered. Concretes of high-alumina and corundum compositions of CFRC, as well as in the Al2O3–SiO2–SiC–C system predominate in this group.

New population of refractory concretes: Cement free concretes (review)

Refractories, 1990
The advantage of cement-free refractory concretes of the ceramic concrete type compared with low cement types consists in the absence of certain components (VGTs) which impair the properties of the compositions. Certain technological features are characterized for the production of ceramic concretes. A process has been developed for obtaining VKVS with

Abrasion resistance of refractory concretes

Refractories, 1967
With the use of abrasion resistant aggregate (corundum or corundum-mullite compositions) the highest abrasion resistance, approximating to that of fired dense chamotte articles) during heating to 1100‡C is possessed by concretes having a phosphate bond and containing water glass.

A study of reinforced refractory concretes

Refractories, 1996
Results of a laboratory study of the properties of corundum concrete with metallic fibers of five compositions are presented. It is shown that some of the fibers affect favorably the strength and heat resistance of the concrete. Industrial tests of parts made of the suggested reinforced concrete have proved these conclusions.

Thermomechanical Behavior of Refractory Concrete Linings

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1982
A numerical analysis model was developed for predicting the behavior of dual‐component, refractory‐lined coal‐gasification vessels. The temperature‐dependent constitutive law, failure criteria, creep behavior, thermal expansion contraction behavior, and shrinkage characteristics of refractory concrete were formulated.

Bonite-Based Heat-Insulating Refractory Concrete

Refractories and Industrial Ceramics, 2014
A technology is described for making a heat-insulating bonite (hexaaluminate) filler based on a high-alumina material (a recycled catalyst support) and high-alumina cement. The properties of the filler and heat-insulating concretes made with it are also described.
