Scale resistance of some refractory concretes

Refractories, 1979
The scale resistance of refractory concretes when the latter interact with molten scale varies, and is primarily determined by the composition of the concretes. The highest scaleresistance is found in the dunite concretes and the lowest in the high-alumina; the chromemagnesite, chromite, and corundum concretes occupy the intermediate position.

Elastic properties of refractory silica concretes

Refractories, 1979
The authors have designed an ultrasonic experimental apparatus and developed a procedure for using it to investigate the elastic properties of refractory concretes at 20–1500°C.

Thermal Conductivity of Refractory Insulating Concrete

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1953
The thermal conductivities and unit weights of seventeen refractory insulating Lumnite cement concretes were determined over the approximate temperature range 500° to 2000°F. The thermal conductivities of all the concretes increased with an increase in temperature, which is usual for amorphous bodies.

Vibroformed dinas-quartzite refractory concrete parts

Refractories, 1989
The possibility of production of vibroformed dinas-quartzite parts with properties practically no different from those rammed with manual pneumatic rammers and meeting TU 14-8-129-74 has been shown.

Biaxial Compression Testing of Refractory Concretes

1983
In the past, the design of large refractory lined process vessels, such as used in coal gasification, has been based on operating experience. During the 1970’s, efforts were funded by the Department of Energy (DOE) to develop mathematical models that would predict the thermo-mechanical behavior of refractory concrete lined coal gasification process ...

Refractory concrete based on chromium bond

Refractories, 1989

High-alumina cement for refractory concretes

Refractories, 1986

Heat-resisting and refractory concretes

2003
The definition of refractory concrete will vary depending on the specific reference. However, a good general definition is: “Concrete which is suitable for use at high temperatures composed of hydraulic cement (calcium aluminate cement) as the binding agent, combined with heat resistance, refractory aggregates and or fillers.” The boundary between heat-

Refractory concretes for steel-teeming ladles

Refractories, 1989

Properties of cast magnesial refractory concretes

Refractories, 1979
The rheological and physical properties of cast magnesial concretes and the relationship between these properties have been studied. It is established that with an increase in the compressive load, the shear deformation of the cast concretes decreases sharply and the concretes become more rigid.
