Purpose Exposure to a public health threat of significant proportions made current models inadequate to explain the failure phenomenon in small businesses. Hence, the need to reimagine the phenomenon. Borrowing from the principles of biology, this study extended theoretical and empirical perspectives on the failure phenomenon by unpacking its ...

In Vivo Evaluation of Cartilage Regenerative Effects of CCN2 Protein
2016CCN family protein 2/connective tissue growth factor (CCN2/CTGF) is a unique growth factor that promotes the proliferation and differentiation, but not the hypertrophy of articular chondrocytes in vitro. Based on these findings, we previously evaluated the cartilage-regenerative effects of recombinant CCN2 protein (rCCN2) by using both mono-iodoacetate

Effect of regenerative load on a static transfer switch performance
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2001A thyristor-based static transfer switch (STS) is used to connect an alternate source of ac power to a sensitive load when the main source fails. A main criterion for performance evaluation of an STS is the transfer time from the main to the alternate source.

On the effective sampling time of regenerative comparators
2008 51st Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2008A practical regenerative comparator will be modeled as a comparator with ideal sampling accuracy preceded by a time-windowing function. An analysis of the regenerative comparator will be presented resulting in an expression for the windowing function in terms of the time constants of the comparator.

Gandhi’s Spinning Wheel: The Charkha and Its Regenerative Effects
Journal of the History of Ideas, 2020This essay interrogates the role of the charkha (spinning wheel) in Mohandas Gandhi's thought. It argues that spinning deserves to be recognized as belonging in the realm of other high concepts and practices, such as non-violence, that have garnered much more academic attention.

Honey: An Effective Regenerative Medicine Product in Wound Management
Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2019:Honey has successfully been used in the treatment of a broad spectrum of injuries including burns and non-healing wounds. It acts as an antibacterial and anti-biofilm agent with anti/pro-inflammatory properties. However, besides these traditional properties, recent evidence suggests that honey is also an immunomodulator in wound healing and contains ...

Investigation of the Effectiveness of Regenerative Braking for EV and HEV
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1999<div class="htmlview paragraph">The possibility of recovering vehicle kinetic energy is one inherent advantage of electric and hybrid electric vehicles. When a vehicle drives in heavy traffic, for example in New York City, more than half of the total energy is dissipated in the brakes. Therefore, recovering braking energy is an effective approach
