REMO2020: a modernised modular regional climate model

open access: yesGeoscientific Model Development
Abstract. This paper introduces REMO2020, a modernised version of the well-known and widely used REgional climate MOdel (REMO). REMO2020 has undergone fundamental changes in its code structure to provide a more modular, operationally focused design, facilitating the inclusion of new components and updates. Here, we describe the default configuration of

A Model for Regional Climate Simulation

open access: yesResearch Journal of Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology, 2011
This study in detail introduced a climate model for regional climate simulation-Statistical Regional Climate Model (Abbrev. Star Model). It explained the scheme and the application of the Statistical Regional Climate Model. The regional simulation was used with respect to "Temperature of 2 m" and "Precipitation" as the characteristic variables of ...

A Virtual Clinical Trial of Psychedelics to Treat Patients With Disorders of Consciousness

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Disorders of consciousness after severe brain injury are marked by reduced complexity of brain activity and limited treatment options. Using personalized whole‐brain models, this study shows that simulated lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and psilocybin shift patient brain dynamics closer to criticality.

To What Extent Does Discounting ‘Hot’ Climate Models Improve the Predictive Skill of Climate Model Ensembles?

open access: yesEarth's Future
It depends. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's (IPCC) Assessment Report Six (AR6) took a step toward ending so‐called ‘model democracy’ by discounting climate models that are too warm over the historical period (i.e., models that ‘run hot ...

Nonstationarities of regional climate model biases in European seasonal mean temperature and precipitation sums [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Bias correcting climate models implicitly assumes stationarity of the correction function. This assumption is assessed for regional climate models in a pseudo reality for seasonal mean temperature and precipitation sums.

Navigating the Ethereal Tightrope: The Nanogenerator Manipulates Neurons for Immune Equilibrium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explores how nanogenerators modulate neuroimmune responses, offering innovative strategies for treating neurological disorders. By interfacing with neural pathways, they enable precise control of immune activity, especially via vagus nerve stimulation.

A new regional climate model for POLAR-CORDEX : evaluation of a 30-year hindcast with COSMO-CLM2 over Antarctica [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Continent-wide climate information over the Antarctic Ice Sheet (AIS) is important to obtain accurate information of present climate and reduce uncertainties of the ice sheet mass balance response and resulting global sea level rise to future climate ...

The Mitochondrial Guardian α‐Amyrin Mitigates Alzheimer's Disease Pathology via Modulation of the DLK‐SARM1‐ULK1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dietary habits play a key role in chronic diseases, and higher annual consumption of fruit and vegetable may lower risk of dementia. Artificial intelligence predicts the lipid‐like compound α‐Amyrin (αA) from plants with edible peels as a drug candidate against Alzheimer's disease.

Regional Impacts Poorly Constrained by Climate Sensitivity

open access: yesEarth's Future
Climate risk assessments must account for a wide range of possible futures, so scientists often use simulations made by numerous global climate models to explore potential changes in regional climates and their impacts.

Projected climate change in Fennoscandia – and its relation to ensemble spread and global trends [PDF]

open access: yesWeather and Climate Dynamics
The need for information about climate change is great. This information is usually based on climate model data, which often have systematic biases. Furthermore, climate information is based on ensembles of climate models, which raises the question about
