A heart‐on‐a‐chip model of dilated cardiomyopathy is developed from patient‐derived induced pluripotent stem cells. The model recapitulates key disease phenotypes and enables functional assessment through integrated bead‐based tracking and pillar deflection measurements.

Persuasion: Reflections on Economics, Data and the 'Homogeneity Assumption' [PDF]
This paper discusses issues to do with the empirical basis of modern economics and points towards the need to look more closely at the ‘homogeneity assumption’ that underpins much economic theory.

Multivariate L-moment homogeneity test [PDF]
Several types of hydrological events are described with multivariate characteristics (droughts, floods, rain storms, etc.). When carrying out a multivariate regional frequency analysis for these events it is important to jointly consider all these ...

“Policy Scepticism” and the Impact of Welsh Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) on their Host Region: Accounting for Regional Budget Constraints [PDF]
This paper replicates the analysis of Scottish HEIs in Hermannsson et al (2010b) for the case of Wales in order to provide a self-contained analysis that is readily accessible by those whose primary concern is with the regional impacts of Welsh HEIs.

The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

Efficiently Tracking Homogeneous Regions in Multichannel Images
We present a method for tracking Maximally Stable Homogeneous Regions (MSHR) in images with an arbitrary number of channels. MSHR are conceptionally very similar to Maximally Stable Extremal Regions (MSER) and Maximally Stable Color Regions (MSCR), but can also be applied to hyperspectral and color images while remaining extremely efficient.

Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Identification of homogeneous regions and regional frequency analysis for Turkey
Ward's hierarchical clustering method is applied to classify the annual floods and identify the hydrologic homogeneous regions in Turkey. For this aim, the annual flood data obtained at the 117 gauging stations having data records of 31 years operated by the general directorate of electrical power resources survey and development administration (EIE ...
