POM‐Based Water Splitting Catalyst Under Acid Conditions Driven by Its Assembly on Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A newly‐engineered POM‐based electrocatalyst incorporating non‐innocent counter cations exhibits fast kinetics for either the OER or HER under strongly acidic conditions (1 m H2SO4), depending on whether it is assembled on carbon nanotubes (1@CNT) or physically mixed with them (1/CNT). In water‐splitting tests using a two‐electrode setup, these systems

Homogeneity testing: how homogeneous do heterogeneous cross-correlated regions seem? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The homogeneity of the flood frequency regime for a given pooling-group of sites is a fundamental assumption for many regional flood frequency analysis techniques.

Polyimide‐Linked Hexaazatriphenylene‐Based Porous Organic Polymer with Multiple Redox‐Active Sites as a High‐Capacity Organic Cathode for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A high‐capacity polyimide‐linked porous organic polymer (HAT‐PTO) incorporating numerous redox‐active centers is synthesized via a hydrothermal reaction, delivering a high theoretical capacity of 484 mAh g−1. In situ hybridization with carboxyl‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes enhances conductivity and stability, achieving 397 mAh g−1 at C ...

"Policy Scepticism" and the Impact of Northern Irish Higher Education Institutions (HEIS) on Their Host Region : Accounting for Regional Budget Contraints [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper replicates the analysis of Scottish HEIs in Hermannsson et al (2010b) for the case of Northern Ireland. The motivation is to provide a self-contained analysis that is readily accessible by those whose primary concern is with the regional ...

Flexoelectrically Induced Polar Topology in Twisted SrTiO3 Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Twisted SrTiO3 bilayers host polar vortices of flexoelectric origin, revealed through combined experiment and theory. By reconstructing polarization from the toroidal moment of strain gradients, the work establishes a 3D chiral state with broken inversion and mirror symmetries.

Regional Capital Mobility in China: 1978-2006 [PDF]

open access: yes
We examine cross-region capital mobility in China and track how the degree of mobility has changed over time. The effects of fiscal and redistributive activities of different levels of government in China on private capital mobility are taken into ...

Reduced regional activity and functional connectivity within sensorimotor network in Parkinson’s patients with restless legs syndrome

open access: yesMolecular Pain, 2019
Background Restless legs syndrome is an important sleep disturbance in Parkinson’s disease. Restless legs syndrome causes an urge to move the legs accompanying sensations which can be difficult to describe but include aching, burning, tingling, or ...

A Cu‐Based Near‐IR Active MOF with an Ion‐Pair Guest Exhibiting Versatile and Selective Gas‐Solid Reactivity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The new Cu‐containing MOF (Me2NH2)(CuICl2)@[Cu4(INA)4Cl2O]·1.5dmf (3) contains a cation and an anion as guests and shows UV‐near‐mid‐IR absorption and near‐IR emission. MOF 3 shows gas‐solid reactivity in the presence of NH3 and HCOOH to yield two new 3D MOF.

Is there long-run convergence of regional house prices in the UK? [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper investigates the long-run convergence of regional house prices in the UK. Using a variety of econometric methods, existing studies have failed to reach a consensus on whether or not regional house prices are cointegrated and exhibit long-run ...
