Hydrophilic Polymers Enable Gastrointestinal Transit Monitoring by Fluorine‐19 Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Hydrophilic fluorinated copolymers dissolve in chyme and give a strong, single 19F signal, unlike phase‐separating perfluorocarbons. Combined 1H‐19F MRI tracks their whole‐gut transit non‐invasively and without ionizing radiation. Automated extraction of homogeneous regions by seeded region shrinkage [PDF]

Drawing a spectrally homogeneous region of interest in a remotely sensed image is a common task for an image analyst when performing, for instance, atmospheric correction or end-member selection. Transient Cytoskeletal Anisotropy Encodes Short‐Term Mechanical Memory in Glioblastoma Cells

The same mechanical deformation can produce distinct cytoskeletal states depending on loading history. Experiments and constitutive modeling reveal that transient actin–vimentin anisotropy stores mechanical information and governs short‐term mechanical memory in glioblastoma cells.
