Regioselective N-Functionalization of Tetraazacycloalkanes
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2005[reaction: see text] Bisaminal type compounds obtained by condensation of pyruvic aldehyde with the suitable open-chain tetraamine followed by cyclization with either dibromoethane or dibromopropane can be regioselectively quaternized by a wide range of alkylating agents.

Regioselectivity-Switchable Hydroarylation of Styrenes
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2010Cobalt-phosphine and cobalt-carbene catalysts have been developed for the hydroarylation of styrenes via chelation-assisted C-H bond activation, to afford branched and linear addition products, respectively, in a highly regioselective fashion. Deuterium-labeling experiments suggested a mechanism involving reversible C-H bond cleavage and olefin ...

Rhodium-Catalyzed Regioselective Olefin Hydrophosphorylation
Organic Letters, 2001Parameters influencing the selectivity of the (PPh(3))(3)RhCl-catalyzed hydrophosphorylation of olefins and enynes are described. The reaction between differentiated dienes was shown to be highly responsive to olefin substitution. The trimethylsilyl group effectively reversed the normal preference for hydrophosphorylation of an alkyne over an alkene ...

Highly regioselective osmium-catalyzed hydroformylation
Chemical Communications, 2015Osmium carbonyl combined with 2-imidazoyl-substituted phosphine ligands forms active species for the highly regioselective and general hydroformylation of alkenes to produce aldehydes in good yields and excellent regioselectivities. An unusual phosphido bridged trinuclear osmium catalyst structure was obtained.
