Results of the ADHERE upper airway stimulation registry and predictors of therapy efficacy

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, 2019
The ADHERE Registry is a multicenter prospective observational study following outcomes of upper airway stimulation (UAS) therapy in patients who have failed continuous positive airway pressure therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

The edge visualization metric: Quantifying the improvement of lung SBRT target definition with 4D CBCT

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Four‐dimensional cone‐beam CT (4D CBCT) incorporates oversampling of 3D data to reconstruct multi‐phase CBCT data sets representing distinct phases of the breathing cycle based on a diaphragmatic correlate of respiratory motion. Motion artifacts and blurring can be reduced relative to three‐dimensional cone‐beam (3D CBCT), allowing ...

Estimating the effect of PEG in ALS patients using observational data subject to censoring by death and missing outcomes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Though they may offer valuable patient and disease information that is impossible to study in a randomized trial, clinical disease registries also require special care and attention in causal inference. Registry data may be incomplete, inconsistent, and subject to confounding.

Enhanced analysis of gating latency in 0.35T MR‐linac through innovative time synchronization of a motion phantom and plastic scintillation detector

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study aims to evaluate how different gantry angles, breathing rates (BPM), cine image speeds, and tracking algorithms affect beam on/off latency and the subsequent impact on target dose for a 0.35T MR‐Linac with a 6 MV FFF beam.

Quantitative quality control of 3D water tank using image analysis

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and objective Accurate beam data acquisition using three‐dimensional (3D) water tanks is essential for beam commissioning and quality control (QC) in clinical radiation therapy. This study introduces a novel method for quantitative QC of the system, utilizing MV images and webcam videos.

AI Model Registries: A Foundational Tool for AI Governance [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this report, we propose the implementation of national registries for frontier AI models as a foundational tool for AI governance. We explore the rationale, design, and implementation of such registries, drawing on comparisons with registries in analogous industries to make recommendations for a registry that is efficient, unintrusive, and which ...

Development of a VO Registry Subject Ontology using Automated Methods [PDF]

open access: yesAstronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems XX. ASP Conference Proceedings, Vol. 442, 2011, p.599, 2015
We report on our initial work to automate the generation of a domain ontology using subject fields of resources held in the Virtual Observatory registry. Preliminary results are comparable to more generalized ontology learning software currently in use.
