Craniometric Method for Age Estimation by the Degree of Lambdoid Suture Obliteration

open access: yesИнновационная медицина Кубани
Background: In anthropology age of skeletal remains can be estimated without specific equipment by the degree of serrate suture obliteration; however, standard methods of obliteration measurement cannot be used to calculate age of a skull with a ...

The impact of road parameters and the surrounding area on traffic accidents [PDF]

open access: yesTransport, 2009
The article analyses the data on road traffic accidents in Lithuanian main and interurban road networks in the years 2002–2006. The road network is divided into 341 road sections.

Xenosauridae regression equations and tests.

open access: yes
Sample sizes indicate number of extant xenosaurid specimens that included the element used in the given regression. Regression equations are ranked in order of increasing standard error of the estimate (SEE).

A role for eIF5A in translational control of stress‐inducible proteins in multiple myeloma cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of eIF5A rewires thapsigargin‐mediated endoplasmic reticulum stress responses in multiple myeloma cells by selective translation of mRNA transcripts, consequently dampening thapsigargin‐induced unfolded protein response (UPR) activation and shifting the balance from induction of apoptosis toward cell survival and proliferation.

systemfit: A Package for Estimating Systems of Simultaneous Equations in R [PDF]

open access: yes
Many statistical analyses (e.g., in econometrics, biostatistics and experimental design) are based on models containing systems of structurally related equations.

SPHINX31 acts as a SRPK1 inhibitor targeting the ATR/DNA‐PKcs/CHK1 replicative checkpoint to inhibit cell growth in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The kinase SRPK1 directly interacts with the protein TOPBP1 and regulates the pre‐mRNA splicing of WIZ thereby contributing to the activation of the ATR/CHK1 replicative checkpoint in response to replicative stress. This allows cancer cells' genomic stability and survival.

Targeting the EpCAM‐AXL axis to overcome drug resistance in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung cancer cells often evade therapy by hijacking signaling pathways. We reveal that cleaved EpCAM (sEpCAM) stabilizes the oncogenic protein AXL, driving NF‐κB and STAT3‐mediated chemoresistance. This EpCAM‐AXL axis identifies a high‐risk patient subset with poor prognosis.
