Stabilization of Robots With a Regulator Containing the Sigmoid Mapping

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Actuators nonlinearities are unknown external perturbations in robots, which are unwanted because they can severely limit their performance. This research is focused on the stabilization of robots subject to actuators nonlinearities with a regulator ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Analytic structure of meson propagators in the proper-time regularized Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model

open access: yes, 1996
We analyze the analytic structure of meson propagators in the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model with a proper-time regulator. We show that the regulator produces unphysical complex singularities.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

High nitrogen use efficiency in wheat is explained by a longer fast-increase period and adequate pre-anthesis nitrogen accumulation

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
IntroductionNitrogen (N)-efficient wheat cultivars achieve higher grain yields with equivalent N fertilizer inputs, and the grain filling character largely determines grain weight (GW) in cereal crops.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Growth, leaf anatomy, and photosynthesis of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) seedlings in response to four light-emitting diodes and high pressure sodium lamp

open access: yesJournal of Cotton Research
Background Light is a critical factor in plant growth and development, particularly in controlled environments. Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have become a reliable alternative to conventional high pressure sodium (HSP) lamps because they are more ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Morphological and physiological mechanisms underlying lodging in cotton stems

open access: yesJournal of Cotton Research
Background Cotton lodging has become increasingly prevalent due to extreme environmental conditions and agronomic practices, severely compromising yield, fiber quality, and mechanical harvesting efficiency.
