In vitro selection of translational regulatory elements

Analytical Biochemistry, 2006
Untranslated regions (UTRs) of mRNAs carry various kinds of translational regulatory elements; however, our knowledge of them is still limited. We created an in vitro selection system that allows us to make a systematic enrichment of the sequences that alter translation efficiency (SESTRE) in any given mRNA and translation system.

Regulatory elements of fish regeneration

Science, 2020
Regeneration Some animals regenerate extensively, whereas others, such as mammals, do not. The reason behind this difference is not clear. If the genetic mechanisms driving regeneration are evolutionarily conserved, the study of distantly related species that are subjected to different selective pressures could identify distinguishing species-specific ...

Papillomavirus 3' UTR regulatory elements

Frontiers in Bioscience, 2008
Papillomaviruses infect epithelial cells causing mainly benign lesions or warts. In some rare instances, these may progress to malignancy. For example, human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) is the causative agent of 60 percent of cases of cervical cancer. The replication cycle of papillomaviruses is intimately linked to epithelial differentiation.
