Determinants of diuresis/natriuresis following ambulatory intravenous loop diuretics for worsening heart failure

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The use of intravenous (IV) diuretics in an outpatient setting may represent an alternative to conventional hospitalization. Our objective was to identify factors associated with diuretic response during ambulatory IV diuretic sessions in a population of advanced heart failure with no therapeutic project and a frequent flyer profile.

Long‐term prognosis of pure and impure tachycardiomyopathy

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and aims Tachycardia‐induced cardiomyopathy (TCM) is a reversible form of heart failure (HF) driven by arrhythmias, often atrial fibrillation (AF). While reversible, TCM's long‐term prognosis remains unclear, especially in comparison to HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).

Adaptation of right ventricular function following tricuspid transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Right ventricular remodelling following tricuspid transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair. After T‐TEER, most patients either maintain or decrease their RVEF, while only a minority experience an increase. Patients with increased RVEF were associated with TR worsening and worse prognosis.

Exercise‐induced out‐of‐proportion increase in afterload and impaired right ventricular contractile reserve in HFpEF

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Non‐cardiac dyspnoea (n = 34, NCD) and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (n = 34, HFpEF) patients were classified according to right heart catheterisation. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance derived right ventricular (RV) haemodynamic indices for afterload (Ea), contractility (Ees) and RV/pulmonary artery coupling (Ea/Ees) were evaluated ...
