Human Urine Stem Cells Alleviate Pulmonary Fibrosis via Inhibiting Macrophage‐Myofibroblast Transition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Therapeutic role and mechanism of human urine stem cells (hUSCs) in pulmonary fibrosis. hUSCs alleviated pulmonary fibrosis by selectively inhibiting macrophage‐myofibroblast transition (MMT) in two ways: on one hand, hUSCs inhibited mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (mtROS) production and apoptosis/senescence of epithelial cells in pulmonary ...

The use of oral rehydration therapy in the management of diarrhoeal diseases in a peri-urban slum of Nairobi, Kenya

open access: yes, 1990
Oral Rehydration Therapy can play a significant role in reducing both mortality and morbidity associated with diarrhoeal diseases. Inspite of woridwide efforts to promote the use of Oral Rehydration Therapy, usage rates remain below 4% and success ...

Effects of temperature and immersion time on rehydration of osmotically dehydrated pork meat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this work was to study the changes in osmotically dehydrated (OD) pork meat during rehydration. Meat samples (lxlxlcm cubes) were osmotically treated in two solutions: (1) solution with 350g of NaCI and 1200g of sucrose diluted in I I of ...

Programmable Multi‐Axially Aligned Aerogels via Sequential Freeze‐Casting for Tailored Anisotropy and Tunable Mechanics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conventional single‐gradient freeze‐casting typically produces unidirectional porous architectures with limited transverse connectivity. The Sequential Hybridization by Infiltration and Freeze‐casting Technique (SHIFT) addresses this constraint by integrating secondary aligned structures within a preformed primary scaffold.

Inversed Cation Size Effects on Methanol Formations From CO2 Electroreduction by Immobilized Cobalt Phthalocyanine

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Multiscale simulations reveal an inversed cation size effect (Li+ > Na+ > K+ > Cs+) in immobilized cobalt phthalocyanine ‐catalyzed CO2 reduction to methanol. Smaller cations like Li+ effectively stabilize the rate‐limiting proton‐transfer transition state through intimate coordination, whereas their disruption of the local hydrogen‐bond network ...

A comparative study of glycine fortified oral rehydration solution with standard WHO oral rehydration solution.

open access: yesIndian pediatrics, 1990
The safety, efficacy and acceptability of glycine-fortified oral rehydration solution (ORS) was compared with that of standard WHO-ORS in a controlled randomized trial. Fifty male infants with acute, watery, non-cholera diarrhea were studied. Glycine-fortified ORS at a concentration of 111 mmol/L (8.4 g/L) was used.

REGγ Suppresses Ferroptosis and Induces Drug Resistance by Degrading WDR6 in Chondrosarcoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Here, we identified REGγ as a susceptibility factor in chondrosarcoma. Our study demonstrates that abnormally activated REGγ‐20S proteasome promotes chondrosarcoma development and progression. Further validation in animal models revealed that blocking REGγ function induced ferroptosis, suppressed malignant progression of chondrosarcoma, and uncovered a

A Lipid‐Conjugation Strategy for Intracellular Reactive Oxygen Species Control in Hepatic Cells

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A lipid conjugation strategy anchors a manganese Salen complex within phospholipid membranes, yielding stable, catalytically active liposomes. These lipid–metal assemblies efficiently degrade reactive oxygen species (ROS) and enable intracellular redox control in steatotic HepaRG cells, offering a precise route to biomimetic antioxidant design ...

Bridging Performance and Fate: A Framework for Sustainable, Composite‐Based Flexible Electronic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Composite‐based flexible electronics integrate biodegradable polymers, conductive networks, and multilayer device architectures to balance electrical performance, mechanical durability, and controlled degradation. Interfacial engineering and encapsulation regulate transport stability and operational lifetime, while programmed disassembly enables ...
