Spontaneous Trigeminal-Facial Reinnervation
Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, 1990Although spontaneous recovery of denervated facial muscles has been anecdotally recorded in the clinical setting, it has never been fully documented. The establishment of anastomoses between the terminal trigeminal and facial nerves provides a possible explanation of this phenomenon.

Reinnervation of Flaps and Grafts of the Face
Archives of Dermatology, 1998The degree to which disruption of sensory innervation is affected by flaps and grafts on the face has not been explored. The decision to choose a flap or a graft for reconstruction may affect future sensation at the surgical site.To characterize the clinical recovery of sensory innervation after facial reconstructive surgery with flaps and grafts and ...

Reinnervation in duchenne muscular dystrophy
Muscle & Nerve, 1983AbstractMotor neuron abnormalities have been implicated in the pathogenesis of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Evidence concerning the effect of injury on motor neurons of human Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is lacking. We report a DMD patient having, in addition, an obstetric paresis on his left arm.

Diaphragm reinnervation by laryngeal motoneurons
Journal of Applied Physiology, 1993Inspiratory activity of the paralyzed diaphragm was restored by reinnervation with brain stem laryngeal motoneurons. In 10 anesthetized cats, the right recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) was cut and anastomosed to the distal stump of either one or both roots (C5-C6) of the ipsilateral phrenic nerve.

Signs of reinnervation in myasthenia gravis
Muscle & Nerve, 1982AbstractIn a study of 71 patients with myasthenia gravis, the local fiber density of muscle fibers within motor units was estimated with single fiber electromyography (SFEMG). The fiber density was increased significantly in the patient group, compared to normal controls.

Reinnervation of the Unilaterally Paralyzed Larynx
Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology, 1977Because of early success with reinnervation of the abductor musculature of bilaterally paralyzed larynges, experimental work and ultimately surgery in human patients has been undertaken to endeavor to apply the same basic concept to reinnervation of the unilaterally paralyzed larynx.

Muscle reinnervation in hypothyroid rats.
Journal of the peripheral nervous system : JPNS, 1996Reinnervation of extensor digitorum longus muscle following crush of sciatic nerve was studied in rats made hypothyroid after weaning. In vitro intracellular recordings of muscle cell postsynaptic potentials were carried out; moreover twitch and tetanus following direct muscle stimulation and nerve stimulation were recorded.
