Slow dynamics, aging, and glassy rheology in soft and living matter

open access: yes, 2006
We explore the origins of slow dynamics, aging and glassy rheology in soft and living matter. Non-diffusive slow dynamics and aging in materials characterised by crowding of the constituents can be explained in terms of structural rearrangement or ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Frequency Dependence of Aging, Rejuvenation and Memory in a disordered ferroelectric

open access: yes, 2000
We characterize in details the aging properties of the ferroelectric phase of K Ta_{1-x} Nb_x O_3 (KTN), where both rejuvenation and (partial) memory are observed.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Bio-graded recycling for hot asphalt mixtures with high RAP content considering freeze-thaw

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials
This paper investigates the effects of freeze-thaw cycles on the performance of asphalt mixtures containing 60% rejuvenated asphalt pavement (RAP). Two rejuvenation processes, traditional and bio-graded recycling, are compared regarding high-temperature ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Application of facial analysis in facial rejuvenation

open access: yesPifu-xingbing zhenliaoxue zazhi
Correct facial analysis is the first step to achieve good results in any facial plastic surgery or facial rejuvenation surgery/procedure. Assessing the corresponding anatomic area of facial aging through facial analysis and precisely designing the ...
