Improving the Performance of Optical Phased Array by Reducing Relative Intensity Noise of Optically Injection-Locked Laser Array

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
Relative intensity noise (RIN) is an important factor that determines the performance of optical phased arrays (OPA) that are configured using semiconductor lasers as light emission sources. This study proposes a method of improving the optical signal-to-

Reduction of relative intensity noise in a diamond Raman laser

open access: yesOptics Express
The relative intensity noise (RIN) characteristics of a continuous-wave diamond Raman laser are investigated for the first time. The results reveal the parasitic stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) that usually occurred with higher-order spatial modes in the diamond Raman resonator is a pivotal factor impacting the Raman longitudinal modes and ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Design of Two-Mode Spectroscopic Sensor for Biomedical Applications: Analysis and Measurement of Relative Intensity Noise through Control Mechanism

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
The design of an intracavity spectroscopy based two-mode biomedical sensor involves a thorough investigation of the system. For this purpose, the individual components that are present in the system must be examined.

Relative intensity noise and linewidth measurements of a widely tunable GCSR laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The intensity and frequency noise of a grating assisted codirectional coupler with rear sampled grating reflector laser with 40-nm tuning range and 35-dB sidemode suppression ratio (SMSR) have been measured.

Investigating transcription factor dynamics in health and disease using FRAP

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
FRAP analysis of GFP‐tagged transcription factors reveals how molecular mobility and target engagement change in response to drug treatment. By combining live‐cell imaging, quantitative model fitting, and statistical analysis, this approach uncovers transcription factor dynamics linked to disease mechanisms, providing a powerful framework for ...

All-optical intensity noise suppression for solid-state and semiconductor lasers

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2005
This paper will report on a new all-optical technique of relative intensity noise (RIN) suppression for solidstate and semiconductor lasers. The new scheme we have used is based on an unbalanced Mach-Zehnder interferometer (UMZI), which is able to ...

Influence of Laser Relative-Intensity Noise on the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna

open access: yesPhysical Review Applied, 2023
LISA is an upcoming ESA mission that will detect gravitational waves in space by interferometrically measuring the separation between free-falling test masses at picometer precision. To reach the desired performance, LISA will employ the noise reduction technique time-delay interferometry (TDI), in which multiple raw interferometric readouts are time ...

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...
