Intensity noise reduction using a gain saturated soa [PDF]
The Semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) technology has a promising commercial value and viability in fiber optic communication systems. The SOA is usually employed as a booster or pre-amplifier in various optical communication networks.

Timing jitter reduction through relative intensity noise suppression in high-repetition-rate mode-locked fiber lasers [PDF]
We reported the timing jitter reduction of an 882 MHz mode-locked NPE Yb:fiber lasers through active relative intensity noise suppression. The timing jitter spectra measurements based on balanced optical cross-correlation (BOC) technique show a reduction

A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Vibration intensity difference thresholds [PDF]
The intensity difference threshold is defined as ‘the difference in the intensity of two stimuli which is just sufficient for their difference to be detected’.The aim of this thesis is to advance understanding of the perception of vibration intensity ...

Moving the Weber fraction: the perceptual precision for moment of inertia increases with exploration force [PDF]
How does the magnitude of the exploration force influence the precision of haptic perceptual estimates? To address this question, we examined the perceptual precision for moment of inertia (i.e., an object’s ‘‘angular mass’’) under different force ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Impact of Laser Intensity Noise on Dual-Comb Absolute Ranging Precision
Noise in mode-locked lasers has been a central issue for dual-comb metrological applications. In this work, we investigate the laser intensity noise on dual-comb absolute ranging precision. Two different dual-comb schemes based on linear optical sampling

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

The intensity JND comes from Poisson neural noise: Implications for image coding [PDF]
While the problems of image coding and audio coding have frequently been assumed to have similarities, specific sets of relationships have remained vague.
