Viscoelastic Relaxation Modulus Characterization Using Prony Series [PDF]

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures, 2015
The mechanical behavior of viscoelastic materials is influenced, among other factors, by parameters like time and temperature. The present paper proposes a methodology for a thermorheologically and piezorheologically simple characterization of ...

Simulation of relaxation time and storage modulus for carbon nanotubes-based nanocomposites

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
This paper develops two equations for relaxation time and storage modulus of biopolymer nanocomposites at unlike frequency ranges. The relaxation time is correlated to zero complex viscosity, yield stress, K constant and power-law index. In addition, the

Transverse relaxation characteristic and stress relaxation model considering molecular chains of HTPB coating based on pre-strained thermal aging

open access: yesDefence Technology, 2021
In order to accurately describe the transverse relaxation characteristic and stress relaxation modulus of HTPB coating during pre-strain thermal aging process, a one month thermal aging test was carried out at 70 °C with pre-strain of 0%, 3%, 6% and 9 ...

Experimental and numerical research of stress relaxation behavior of magnetorheological elastomer

open access: yesPolymer Testing, 2021
The paper presents experimental research and viscoelastic modeling of stress relaxation response of isotropic magnetorheological elastomer (MRE). The isotropic MRE has been prepared based on silicone matrix filled by magnetically micro-sized carbonyl ...

Analysis method for relaxation effect of prestressed anchor cable tension based on a series rheological model

open access: yesShuiwen dizhi gongcheng dizhi, 2023
Anchor cable tension relaxation with time is a typical problem in the prestressed anchor cable structure used to reinforce slopes. In order to reasonably predict the tension relaxation of anchor cable, based on the interaction among the stable layer ...

Simple average expression for shear-stress relaxation modulus [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2016
Focusing on isotropic elastic networks we propose a novel simple-average expression $G(t) = _A - h(t)$ for the computational determination of the shear-stress relaxation modulus $G(t)$ of a classical elastic solid or fluid and its equilibrium modulus $\G_{eq} = \lim_{t \to \infty} G(t)$.

Measurement of Relaxation Modulus of Viscoelastic Materials and Design of Testing Device

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Viscoelastic parameters of viscoelastic materials should be measured to ensure their effective use. Unfortunately, devices for effective and accurate measurement of the relaxation modulus of materials are not currently available.

Constant Modulus Shaped Beam Synthesis via Convex Relaxation [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, 2017
Constant modulus shaped beam synthesis is widely employed in multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) radar systems and MIMO wireless communication systems to improve the effective power gain by using only phase adjustment. To achieve the maximum beam gain, we formulate a new optimization problem to maximize the main lobe gain and also properly suppress ...

Young's modulus and ?-relaxation of amorphous polymers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal de Physique III, 1991
The mechanical behaviour of polymers have been studied as a function of time and temperature. The influence of a critical temperature or critical strain rate have been pointed out which may be related to relaxation phenomena. This study, carried out on Poly Methyl Methacrylate, shows that this relaxation phenomena can be associated to the β-relaxation.
