Titanate-based high-entropy perovskite oxides relaxor ferroelectrics

open access: yesScientific Reports
Different combinations of monovalent and trivalent A-cations in high-entropy perovskite oxides (HEPOs) were investigated. The multicomponent (A′0.2A″0.2Ba0.2Sr0.2Ca0.2)TiO3 (A′ = Na+, K+, A″ = Bi3+, La3+) perovskite compounds were successfully ...

Comparison of polarization switching in ferroelectric TGS and relaxor SBN crystals

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2013
The comparative experimental analysis of polarization reversal kinetics in conventional homogeneous triglycine sulfate (NH2 CH2 COOH)3 ˙ H2SO4; TGS) and relaxor strontium barium niobate (Sr0.61Ba0.39Nb2O6; SBN) crystals have been performed in a broad ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Ultrahigh energy density and improved discharged efficiency in bismuth sodium titanate based relaxor ferroelectrics with A-site vacancy

open access: yesJournal of Materiomics, 2018
Novel A-site deficient (1-x-y)Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3-xBaTiO3-yBi0.2Sr0.7TiO3 lead-free relaxor ferroelectrics have been explored for energy storage property. Particularly slim polarization hysteresis (P-E) loops are observed in 0.655Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3-0.065BaTiO3-0 ...

SNUPN‐Related Muscular Dystrophy: Novel Phenotypic, Pathological and Functional Protein Insights

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SNUPN‐related muscular dystrophy or LGMDR29 is a new entity that covers from a congenital or childhood onset pure muscular dystrophy to more complex phenotypes combining neurodevelopmental features, cataracts, or spinocerebellar ataxia. So far, 12 different variants have been described.

Origin of the "Waterfall" Effect in Phonon Dispersion of Relaxor Perovskites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Inelastic neutron scattering study of the perovskite relaxor ferroelectric PZN:8%PT elucidates the origin of the previously reported unusual kink on the low frequency transverse phonon dispersion curve (known as "waterfall" effect).

Adult‐Onset Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis Presenting With Subacute Cognitive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe the case of a 41‐year‐old man diagnosed with adult‐onset subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE). The patient presented with subacute progressive cognitive deficits and a neuropsychological profile indicating predominant frontoparietal dysfunction. MRI showed only mild parietal‐predominant cerebral atrophy.

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...
