Algorithms for Reliability-Based Optimal Design [PDF]
We present a new formulation for a class of structural optimization problems with reliability constraints, which makes it possible to use a new outer approximations algorithm for their solution. Our numerical results support the viability of our approach.

Threshold shift method for reliability-based design optimization [PDF]
We present a novel approach, referred to as the 'threshold shift method' (TSM), for reliability based design optimization (RBDO). The proposed approach is similar in spirit with the sequential optimization and reliability analysis (SORA) method where the RBDO problem is decoupled into an optimization and a reliability analysis problem.

Interactive Reliability-Based Optimal Design [PDF]
Interactive design/optimization of large, complex structural systems is considered. The objective function is assumed to model the expected costs. The constraints are reliability-based and/or related to deterministic code requirements. Solution of this optimization problem is divided in four main tasks, namely finite element analyses, sensitivity ...

Multidisciplinary Reliability Design Optimization Modeling Based on SysML
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) supports the system-level design of complex products effectively. Currently, system design and optimization for complex products are two distinct processes that must be executed using different software or platforms,

ABSTRACT Pediatric radiation therapy presents unique challenges compared to adult treatments, including those of immobilization, potential need for sedation, and the critical importance of accurate, reproducible positioning. Additionally, heightened attention to imaging doses is necessary to minimize long‐term toxicity in survivors.

Early Impact of Childhood Opportunity on Neurocognitive Outcomes in Sickle Cell Disease
ABSTRACT Introduction Neurocognitive impairment is a well‐recognized complication of sickle cell disease (SCD) that begins early in childhood and persists across development. While cerebrovascular injury contributes substantially to risk, neurocognitive deficits are also observed in children without overt or silent cerebral infarctions, suggesting ...

Reliability-Based Optimization of Impeller Structure Using Exponential Function Approximation
This study proposes a decoupling approach based on first-order exponential function approximation for reliability-based optimization. It establishes an explicit relationship between the failure probability and design parameters within only one ...
