Sensitivity analysis of reliability constrained, eco optimal solar, wind, hydrogen storage based islanded power system

open access: yesScientific Reports
The global energy expansion strategy has incorporated islanded renewable energy-based power generation systems to electrify remote communities. The development of these renewable energy systems (RES) decreases grid dependency and operational costs. Solar

A sensitivity analysis for the adequacy assessment of a multi-state physics modeling approach for reliability analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this work, a moment-independent Sensitivity Analysis (SA) based on Hellinger distance and Kullback-Leibler divergence is proposed to identify the component of a system most affecting its reliability (Diaconis et al., 1982; Gibbs et al., 2002; Di Maio ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Dynamic Reliability Analysis of RV Reducer Considering Strength Degradation and Dependent Failure

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2020
The strength degradation and dependent failure, which have not been taken into account yet in the existing RV reducer reliability analysis methods, have a significant impact on the reliability of mechanical systems.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Reliability-Based Sensitivity Analysis of the Dynamic Response of Railway Bridges

open access: yes, 2022
In response to the planned increase in operational speeds and axle loads of passengertrains that may lead to resonance-induced excessive vibrations in railway bridges, recent studies examined the reliability of bridges concerning train running safety andpassenger comfort limit states.

Overview of molecular signatures of senescence and associated resources: pros and cons

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cells can enter a stress response state termed cellular senescence that is involved in various diseases and aging. Detecting these cells is challenging due to the lack of universal biomarkers. This review presents the current state of senescence identification, from biomarkers to molecular signatures, compares tools and approaches, and highlights ...
