Mission Planning for UAV Swarm with Aircraft Carrier Delivery: A Decoupled Framework

open access: yesAerospace
Due to the limited endurance of UAVs, especially in scenarios involving large areas and dense target nodes, it is challenging for multiple UAVs to complete diverse tasks while ensuring timely execution.

System reliability analysis through corona testing [PDF]

open access: yes
A corona vacuum test facility for nondestructive testing of power system components was built in the Reliability and Quality Engineering Test Laboratories at the NASA Lewis Research Center. The facility was developed to simulate operating temperature and

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Numerical Permeation Models to Predict the Annulus Composition of Flexible Pipes

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
The migration of acid gases through the pressure sheath of flexible pipes may induce a corrosive environment that can lead to steel armors’ failure by SCC (stress corrosion cracking).

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Aging Mechanism and Lifetime Prediction of Glass Fiber Reinforced Liquid Crystal Polymer Composite under Thermal and Oxidative Conditions

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering
Development of fifth‐generation technology leads to a growing demand for materials with exceptional thermal property, mechanical strength, and low dielectric loss. However, ensuring the broad application of such materials by comprehensively investigating

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Comparing the reliability of networks by spectral analysis

open access: yes, 2014
We provide a method for the ranking of the reliability of two networks with the same connectance. Our method is based on the Cheeger constant linking the topological property of a network with its spectrum.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
