Electromagnetic Torque of Reluctance Magnetic Gear
2018 XIV International Scientific-Technical Conference on Actual Problems of Electronics Instrument Engineering (APEIE), 2018The paper deals with the studying of the torque producing mechanisms in reluctance type magnetic gear. The equation of magnetic conductivity and air-gap flux density are presented in the context of the electrical machines theory. The relationships for the reduction ratio and torque are obtained.

Self synchronizing torque control of reluctance motor drives
PESC Record. 27th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2002The paper presents a new torque control scheme for synchronous reluctance motor drives that does not require any position transducer to synchronize the stator current vector with the rotor position, thus allowing a reliable and low cost realization as required in medium performance electric drives.

Torque Harmonic Compensation in a Synchronous Reluctance Motor
IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion, 2006The torque behavior of a synchronous reluctance motor [including the permanent magnet (PM) assisted configuration] is deeply analyzed. An analytical model is developed, showing the dependence of the torque ripple on the rotor geometry. The results of this model allow to individuate the position of the flux--barrier ends so as to minimize the torque ...

Advanced torque control of switched reluctance motor
ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. No.01TH8570), 2002This paper proposes a new torque control strategy for switched reluctance motor (SRM). Most of the established torque control methods implemented with pre-measured or pre-analyzed data, such as phase currents, rotor position and torque. The established methods require hard efforts and time for the repetitious measurement and analysis.

Direct torque control of switched reluctance motor for minimizing torque ripple
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2008Large torque ripple of the Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) is a major problem that is an obstacle to spreading over an industry. Nonlinear inductance profile and pulse magnetizing make the torque ripple unavoidable. In order to reduce the torque ripple, it is necessary to control the torque directly because the torque of the SRM is not linearly ...

High Torque/Ampere Direct Torque Control of Switched Reluctance Motor Drives
2019 National Power Electronics Conference (NPEC), 2019Direct flux and torque (DFTC) scheme is introduced for switched reluctance motors (SRMs) to minimize the inherent output torque ripples. In DTFC voltage vectors are chosen in such a way that the stator flux is kept constant, making it very sensitive to working condition.

Torque Ripple Improvement in Synchronous Reluctance Machines
2018 2nd International Conference On Electrical Engineering (EECon), 2018Synchronous reluctance machine is renowned for high torque ripples due to its complicated and non-linear magnetic path and saturation of rotor core segments during operation. Improving the ripples effects in the machine is imperative for high speed applications. This study investigates and propose methods to improve torque ripples and cogging torque of

Control of torque in switched reluctance motor
2008 Second International Conference on Electrical Engineering, 2008Switched reluctance motor is gaining large interest of industry due to it mechanical simplicity, ruggedness behavior and low cost. On the other hand its advantages are over shadowed by need of intelligent control for its inherent issues like torque ripple, acoustic noise and high non linear characteristics. This paper focuses on torque ripple issue and

Torque Calculations of Polyphase Reluctance Machines
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1967A rigorous solution for the flux-density distribution on the armature surface of a reluctance motor is given by dividing the composite airgap space into two regions and solving Laplace's equation separately in them to get the potential distribution.
