Understanding the Stochastic Nature of Process Parameter Development of Blown Powder Laser Beam Directed Energy Deposition Additive Manufacturing of Pure Molybdenum

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the

Micron CT Study of Pore Structure Changes and Micro-Scale Remaining Oil Distribution Characteristics During Low-Mineralization Water Flooding in Sandstone Reservoirs

open access: yesEnergies
Low-salinity water flooding is a commonly used method to enhance oil recovery. At the microscopic scale, changes in pore structure and the distribution of remaining oil are critical to the effectiveness of water flooding. However, current research on the

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Optimization of the Production of Rubber Compounds Using Mathematical Models

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Rubber compounds were mixed in a batch internal mixer, and symbolic regression was used to derive mathematical models linking recipe and process parameters to ram path, torque, and mixing quality (incorporation, dispersion, distribution). Subsequent optimization with evolutionary algorithms identified operating conditions that reduce specific energy ...

Investigating the Effect of Water Contamination on Gearbox Lubrication based on Motor Control Data from a Sensorless Drive

open access: yes, 2014
Water is one of the most significant destructive contaminations to lubricants which in turn lead to more power consumption and early damage to rotating machines.

Influence factors and effect prediction model of the tertiary migrations of remaining oil

open access: yes, 2020
Worldwide, for older fields that are in the late stages of production period, production wells that lose production value due to high water cut are usually shut down.
