Predictive abilities of cardiovascular biomarkers to rapid decline of renal function in Chinese community-dwelling population: a 5-year prospective analysis

open access: yesBMC Nephrology, 2017
Background Predictive abilities of cardiovascular biomarkers to renal function decline are more significant in Chinese community-dwelling population without glomerular filtration rate (GFR) below 60 ml/min/1.73m2, and long-term prospective study is an ...

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

Does endoscopic sclerotherapy in filarial chyluria affect renal function and morphology? A prospective study using dimercaptosuccinic acid renal scan

open access: yesAsian Journal of Urology, 2019
Objective: To look for change in relative renal function and document renal scarring following endoscopic renal pelvic instillation sclerotherapy (RPIS) in patients with chyluria by dimercaptosuccinic acid (DMSA) renal scan.

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Renal Function and Efficacy of Remote Ischemic Conditioning in Acute Moderate Ischemic Stroke: A Post Hoc Analysis of RICAMIS Trial

open access: yesBrain and Behavior
Background Emerging evidence supports the therapeutic potential of remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) in acute stroke management. This post hoc analysis aims to elucidate the relationship between renal function and the efficacy of RIC.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

VALUE ASSESSMENT OF RENAL FUNCTION IN RENAL CELL CARCINOMA

open access: yesВестник урологии, 2013
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) accounts for 90-95% of all neoplastic lesions of the kidney. In Russia in 2008 defined 17 563 new cases of RCC. In this common tumor found in 45.6 % of cases. A metastatic forms are still a significant part of RCC – 28-32%.
