How to Render FDTD Computations More Effective Using a Graphics Accelerator
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2009Graphics processing units (GPUs) for years have been dedicated mostly to real time rendering. Recently leading GPU manufactures have extended their research area and decided to support also graphics computing. In this paper, we describe an impact of new GPU features on development process of an efficient finite difference time domain (FDTD ...

Rendering Natural Waters: Merging Computer Graphics with Physics and Biology
2002The creation and rendering of realistic water scenes is one of the challenging tasks in Computer Graphics. To reproduce the illumination and colour inside water bodies an algorithm capable of dealing with media with anisotropic and multiple scattering has to be used.

Computation-effective 3-D graphics rendering architecture for embedded multimedia system
2000 Digest of Technical Papers. International Conference on Consumer Electronics. Nineteenth in the Series (Cat. No.00CH37102), 2000A new architecture is proposed to realize 3-D graphics rendering for an embedded multimedia system. Because only 20% to 83% triangles in the original 3-D object models are visible by simulation, our architecture is designed to eliminate the redundant operations on invisible triangles without image quality loss.

A computer graphics rendering algorithm for use on a SIMD machine
1988An algorithm to render shaded pictures is presented which takes advantage of the architecture of a vector computer for improved performance. This paper indicates the changes which need to be considered when designing and implementing a vectorized scanline rendering algorithm.

Hybrid mesh/image-based rendering techniques for computer graphics applications
2015Although visibility (or occlusion) culling techniques have been extensively studied and adopted for fast rendering of occluded objects in a scene, rendering of botanical models poses a major challenge that is not well addressed before. That is, objects in natural scenes tend to be large in the number of counts (e.g.
