State estimation for temporal point processes [PDF]
This paper is concerned with combined inference for point processes on the real line observed in a broken interval. For such processes, the classic history-based approach cannot be used.

Forecasting Eruptions at Poorly Known Volcanoes Using Analogs and Multivariate Renewal Processes
Forecasting future destructive eruptions from re‐awakening volcanoes remains a challenge, mainly due to a lack of previous event data. This sparks a search for similar volcanoes to provide additional information, especially those with better compiled and

Phase Diagram in Stored-Energy-Driven L\'evy Flight
Phase diagram based on the mean square displacement (MSD) and the distribution of diffusion coefficients of the time-averaged MSD for the stored-energy-driven L\'evy flight (SEDLF) is presented.

The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Uniform convergence of exact large deviations for renewal reward processes
Let (X_n,Y_n) be i.i.d. random vectors. Let W(x) be the partial sum of Y_n just before that of X_n exceeds x>0. Motivated by stochastic models for neural activity, uniform convergence of the form $\sup_{c\in I}|a(c,x)\operatorname {Pr}\{W(x)\gecx\}-1|=o ...

Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Large deviations for fractional Poisson processes
We prove large deviation principles for two versions of fractional Poisson processes. Firstly we consider the main version which is a renewal process; we also present large deviation estimates for the ruin probabilities of an insurance model with ...

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

An estimate for an expectation of the simultaneous renewal for time-inhomogeneous Markov chains
In this paper, we consider two time-inhomogeneous Markov chains ${X_{t}^{(l)}}$, $l\in \{1,2\}$, with discrete time on a general state space. We assume the existence of some renewal set C and investigate the time of simultaneous renewal, that is, the ...

Implicit renewal theory for exponential functionals of L\'evy processes
We establish a new functional relation for the probability density function of the exponential functional of a L\'evy process, which allows to significantly simplify the techniques commonly used in the study of these random variables and hence provide ...
