Rennin Coagulation of Enzymatically Dephosphorylated Casein
Nature, 1958MANY of the properties of milk depend on the existence of large aggregates of casein1, the ‘molecular’ weights of which are in the region of 108. When calcium-binding substances such as citrate or oxalate are added, these aggregates are rapidly reduced in size2 to a ‘molecular’ weight of about 105, the specific value being highly dependent on pH ...

NORTHROP1 has shown that crystallization is a useful procedure in the purification of certain enzymes. Crystalline form, however, is not reliable evidence of purity, as pointed out, for example, by Pirie2, but may be considered as confirmatory evidence.

Production of microbial rennin
Biotechnology Letters, 1988Fungal strains were compared for their ability to produce milk-coagulating enzyme with low non-specific proteinase activity. Rhizomucor miehei VTT-D-82193 (ATCC 16457) was chosen as the best source of microbial rennin. The enzyme produced compared favourably with two commercial coagulant preparations of microbial origin.

Chromatographic fractionation of crystallized rennin
Die Makromolekulare Chemie, 1958AbstractIt was shown that a specimen of crystallized rennin was inhomogeneous, and that a homogeneous rennin could be separated by means of the diethylaminoethyl cellulose ion exchange chromatography. The pure enzyme was characterized by determining its terminal amino acids, and by spectropolarimetry.

PAPER CHROMATOGRAPHY OF CASEIN AND RENNIN
Canadian Journal of Medical Sciences, 1951Purified rennins of very high activity were prepared. The amino acid com position of the hydrolyzates of these preparations was studied by paper chromato graphy. Several fractions were obtained from the purified rennins by paper chromatography showing strong enzyme activity which was comparable to the density of their color development with a ...

Partial Characterization of a Thermophilic Actinomycete Rennin
1976The thermophilic rennin isolated from a thermophilic actinomycete which was described previously by Laxer et al. (1972) and Pinsky et al. (1973) was further purified and characterized.

[Genes in rennin-angiotensin system].
Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 2004A large number of association studies revealed the importance of gene polymorphisms in renin-angiotensin system(RAS) in the pathogenesis of hypertension. Among these many polymorphisms of RAS genes, M235T or G-6A polymorphism of angiotensinogen gene increases the risk for salt sensitivity, lacunar infarction, non-dipper type of blood pressure variation,
