Reoxygenation of tumours in “sandwich” chambers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Cancer (1965), 1979
Abstract The process of reoxygenation of tumour tissue was studied in the rhabdomyosarcoma BA1112 following single doses of 10 and 20 Gy of X-rays. The analytical system consisted of the evaluation of the fluorescence response of the hypoxia-induced conversion of NAD to NADH.

Myocardial reoxygenation damage: can it be circumvented?

Cardiovascular Research, 1985
We investigated whether reoxygenation damage could be prevented by interventions directed towards reducing calcium influx only during the reoxygenation period. We measured reoxygenation contracture and recovery of contractile performance, using isolated papillary muscle preparations from cat and rabbit, pretreated with ouabain so as to exaggerate the ...

Reoxygenation of hypoxic tumour cells.

open access: yesStrahlentherapie, 1977
The present status of our knowledge on the reoxygenation of hypoxic tumour cell during fractionated radiotherapy is reviewed. The phenomenon of reoxygenation does not eliminate the need for studies of hypoxic sensitizers or high LET radiation.

[Ultrastructural changes in myocardial anoxia and reoxygenation].

open access: yesBollettino della Societa italiana di biologia sperimentale, 1982
The aim of this study is to describe the ultrastructural changes in anoxic rat hearts perfused with Langendorff technique and the effects of reoxygenation on myocardial cells. After 1 h of aerobic perfusion, the hearts were subjected to 30 min of anoxia and then to 5 and 30 min of reoxygenation.

Acute hypoxia and reoxygenation: Effect on oxidative stress and hypoxia signal transduction in the juvenile yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco)

, 2021
Dissolved oxygen (DO) is essential for the survival of aquatic organisms, while its absence from water effectively compromises the health of fish in aquacultures.

Effects of hypoxia and reoxygenation on intermediary metabolite homeostasis of marine intertidal bivalves Mytilus edulis and Crassostrea gigas.

Comparative biochemistry and physiology. Part A, Molecular & integrative physiology, 2020
Marine benthic invertebrates are frequently exposed to fluctuating oxygen levels resulting in hypoxia-reoxygenation (H/R) stress in the intertidal, estuarine and shallow coastal habitats.
