Bio‐Inspired Multifunctional Superhydrophilic Coatings With Remarkably Fast Self‐Healing Abilities
We developed bio‐inspired multifunctional hydrogel‐based coatings that exhibit extremely fast/repeatable self‐healing abilities, long‐lasting anti‐fogging performance, superhydrophilicity in air, and underwater superoleophobicity. By doping multivalent metal‐ions into the hydrogel networks, which promoted hydrogen bonding formation and enhanced the ...

Advancing Human Skin Equivalents: The Crucial Role of Neurovascular Integration
This review discusses the importance of integrating vascular and peripheral nerve systems into human skin equivalents (HSEs) to better recapitulate native skin physiology. Recent advances in vascularized, innervated, and neurovascularized HSEs are highlighted, together with emerging bioengineering strategies, current challenges, and future ...

Effect of kaolinite and Ca-montmorillonite on the alleviation of soil water repellency
The effects of adding 1-3% (weight) kaolinite or Ca-montmorillonite on the wettability of silica sand, made highly water repellent with stearic acid, was studied during wetting and prolonged drying phases at 50°C.

Use of Clay Dispersed in Water for Decreasing Soil Water Repellency : Water Repellency Mitigation [PDF]
In this study, we examined the efficiency of a kaolinite clayey soil to mitigate water repellency of a sandy soil with olive trees. The treatment was applied to the soil zone below the tree canopy, which displayed the highest degree of water repellency ...

Three‐dimensional bioprinting transforms breast cancer modeling from simple constructs into spatially organized, multicellular, perfused, and patient‐derived platforms. This review shows how bioinks, cellular composition, architecture, and flow govern tumor behavior and drug response, while revealing why complexity alone is insufficient without ...

A hierarchical flexible ceramic nanofiber membrane integrates a La‐stabilized ZrO2 scaffold with superhydrophobic UiO‐66‐NH2/CdS heterojunctions. The gas–liquid–solid interfacial architecture sustains vapor‐selective desalination, visible‐light charge separation, and rapid H2 extraction, enabling simultaneous freshwater production and photocatalytic ...

Impacts of conversion from forestry to pasture on soil physical properties of Vitrands (Pumice Soils) in the Central North Island, New Zealand [PDF]
At least 30 000 hectares of land has been converted from plantation forest to pasture in the central North Island of New Zealand between 2000 and 2010. When forests are cleared for pasture the soil may undergo changes in soil structure affecting physical
