Identification of Leaf Promoters for Use in Transgenic Wheat

open access: yesPlants, 2018
Wheat yields have plateaued in recent years and given the growing global population there is a pressing need to develop higher yielding varieties to meet future demand.

Leukemia Inhibitory Factor Represses GnRH Gene Expression via cFOS during Inflammation in Male Mice. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BackgroundThe mechanisms whereby neuroinflammation negatively affects neuronal function in the hypothalamus are not clear. Our previous study determined that obesity-mediated chronic inflammation elicits sex-specific impairment in reproductive function ...

Silencing of reporter gene expression in skin using siRNAs and expression of plasmid DNA delivered by a soluble protrusion array device (PAD).

open access: yesMolecular Therapy, 2010
Despite rapid progress in the development of potent and selective small interfering RNA (siRNA) agents for skin disorders, translation to the clinic has been hampered by the lack of effective, patient-friendly delivery technologies.

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Reporter Mice for Gene Editing: A Key Tool for Advancing Gene Therapy of Rare Diseases

open access: yesCells
Most rare diseases are caused by mutations and can have devastating consequences. Precise gene editing by CRISPR/Cas is an exciting possibility for helping these patients, if no irreversible developmental defects have occurred.

Early detection of the orchid flowering gene PaFT1 in tobacco cells using a GFP reporter

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Biotechnology, 2016
Here we describe a novel method of using green fluorescence protein (GFP) as a reporter gene for early detection of an integrated TDNA containing the orchid flowering gene, PaFT1 (Phalaenopsis aphrodite Flowering locus T1) in the tobacco genome ...

PCR fusion-based approach to create reporter gene constructs for expression analysis in transgenic C. elegans.

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2002
In the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans, gene expression patterns are most often determined by generating a fusion of the promoter of the gene under study to a reporter gene such as lacZ or gfp (3,4,7,8,11).

Integration of circadian and hypoxia signaling via non‐canonical heterodimerization

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CLOCK, BMAL1, and HIFs are basic helix‐loop‐helix and Per‐Arnt‐Sim domain (bHLH‐PAS) proteins, which function as transcription factors. bHLH‐PAS proteins are designated in two classes. Many class I proteins are regulated by environmental signals via their PAS domains, but such signals have not been identified for all.
