A rapid resazurin bioassay for assessing the toxicity of fungicides

Chemosphere, 2009
Fungicides are widely used in agriculture, and released in large amounts to the environment. Methods used for antifungal susceptibility testing are cumbersome and time-consuming. As a result, very little attention has been paid to including fungal tests in the routine screening of pesticides and there are no reports in the literature of fungicide ...

Drug Screening by Resazurin Colorimetry in Ewing Sarcoma

2020
In Ewing sarcoma (EwS), development of new therapeutic strategies is crucial in order to refine treatment and improve patient survival, especially in metastatic or recurrent disease stages. Thus, preclinical drug screening is a key issue in EwS research.

THE BEHAVIOUR OF RESAZURIN IN MILK

Canadian Journal of Research, 1942
The view that resazurin is not a satisfactory substitute for methylene blue in assessing the hygienic quality of milk has been examined.Resazurin is equally as sensitive as methylene blue to the metabolic activities of bacteria in milk. It is decidedly more sensitive to the presence of non-bacterial factors in abnormal milks (mastitis, late lactation,

Studies with resazurin reduction

2011
A modification of Mover's method has been found satisfactory for the quantitative measurement of resazurin reduction in biological systems. For convenience, the reducing systems were studied separately and the contribution of each system to total dye reduction was determined.

Resazurin reduction in milk

2011
Methods were developed to quantitatively measure resazurin reduction and the reducing capacity of milk. The method for resazurin determination involved butanol extraction of the dye from milk and measurement of the optical density of extracts at 582 mμ and 615 mμ after saturation with sodium bicarbonate; that for reducing capacity was based on reaction

VARIETAL DIFFERENTIATION OF MALTS BY RESAZURIN STAINING

Journal of the Institute of Brewing, 1986
A staining procedure for discrimination of Winter and Spring malted barleys was established by use of Redox indicator resazurin. Three representative European Winter cultivars, Plaisant, Gerbel and Sonja, were clearly differentiated from the Spring varieties, Carina, Europa, Aura, Atem, Kym, Triumph, Menuet, Aramir, Chevalieri and other varieties ...

Oxidation-Reduction Aspects of Resazurin

Nature, 1945
RESAZURIN was discovered by Weselsky1, and first used by Pesch and Simmert in 19292 for estimating the bacterial content of milk. It has lately been extensively used in Great Britain as a basis for a number of tests for the hygienic quality of milk3,4.

Study and optimization of the resazurin/diaphorase system

Microchemical Journal, 1988
Abstract This study describes the resazurin/diaphorase system and its use in a kinetic assay for the determination of dehydrogenase activity. This has increased the sensitivity (limit of detection is 2 × 10−5 U/ml) and produced calibration curves which have an extended linear range and better separation of points.

Photoreduction of resazurin in the presence of aliphatic amines

Dyes and Pigments, 1996
Abstract Photophysical and photochemical properties of the dye resazurin were measured. The quantum yields of fluorescence and triplet formation were determined to be 0.10±0.01 and 0.2, respectively. The lifetimes of the singlet and triplet states are 1.2 ns and 30 μs.
