Kinetic-spectrophotometric determination of sulfide by its reaction with resazurin

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 1996
A sensitive, rapid and selective method for the determination of sulfide based on its reaction with resazurin at pH 7 is described. The method is simple and has the great advantage of being free from interference of other sulfur anions and thus sulfide can be easily determined at trace levels in the presence of other sulfur compounds.

An improved resazurin-based cytotoxicity assay for hepatic cells

Cell Biology and Toxicology, 2002
A simple resazurin-based cytotoxicity assay is presented for screening of cytotoxicity in hepatocytes and liver cell lines. Human hepatoma (HepG2) cells in 96-well culture plates were exposed to known toxic (cisplatin, 5-fluorouracil, ethionine, flufenamic acid, and diflunisal) and control (transplatin, 5-chlorouracil, methionine, and acetylsalicylic ...

Basic Colorimetric Proliferation Assays: MTT, WST, and Resazurin

2017
This chapter describes selected assays for the evaluation of cellular viability and proliferation of cell cultures. The underlying principle of these assays is the measurement of a biochemical marker to evaluate the cell's metabolic activity. The formation of the omnipresent reducing agents NADH and NADPH is used as a marker for metabolic activity in ...

Assay of mitochondrial functions by resazurin in vitro.

Acta pharmacologica Sinica, 2004
To study the mechanism of resazurin as indicator of mitochondrial function and to develop a rapid and sensitive assay for measuring metabolic activity of isolated mitochondria from rat liver in vitro. The screening was carried out on 96-well microtitre plates by monitoring fluorescence intensity of resazurin reduced by mitochondria.

Assessment of Cell Proliferation with Resazurin-Based Fluorescent Dye

2011
The Alamar Blue assay is based on enzymatic reduction of indicator dye by viable cells and serves as an effective tool for assessing cell proliferation and as a screening technique. It can be applied in studies concentrating on animal, plant, yeast, and bacteria cells.
